Here’s Hierbamala again! After a three year long gestation and more than six years after the publication of the first CD “ORA D’ARIA A BABYLON” the odd band has now eleven brand new pieces / songs in hand, which have been picked up from a rich bag of emotions, tales and visions, in other words from the repertory of Hierbamala.Music and words ready to enter blood, just like magic (Magia!). And that’s popular magic as well, which talks about big matters by simple words and using stuff found in the street. So Tambo, Pindi and fellows manage to produce a varied and powerful soundtrack, which is amusing and ironic and played on the “levare”, entirely played with the intent of making people dance at parties and in clubs.MAGIA is made up of eight inedited songs and two covers of large calibre such as “Redemption song” by Bob Marley and the mythic, old but never worn out sixties-hit “No fun” by the Stooges of Iggy Pop, the “Iguana”. In MAGIA you’ll also find the song “Vendi fumo”, already published in 2005, which has been the theme song of the programme “Sansone l’arruffapopoli” broadcast by Popolare network.The sound is rough but you’ll enjoy refining it by your own sweat. “Magia” is this, too! It’s balance between well-known and absolutely unknown pieces, which, one by one, tell stories and enchant thanks to their style and stuff. Each song speaks a different language and various dialects, too: strange words that you can’t perhaps understand properly but that you can feel deep in your heart. “Magia” is this, too. And it’s even more: it’s inspiration and passion. It’s a way for the band to look for a contact, to present their songs and to state their own ideas, in a land and in a time of imitators and of good cover bands, of naziskins and owners of small factories, of factories and unemployment. “Magia” is the translation in words and music of everyday stuff and of extraordinary matter, of memory and hope.It’s the urge to make poetry (it doesn’t matter if high or low) in an ugly world. “Magia” is that, too!

Usano il reggae, lo ska, la patchanka e i ritmi che vanno al cuore, mescolando con stile e luce lingue e dialetti, Bob Marley e Iggy Pop, Steel Pulse e un po’ di poesia. Prendono ciò che trovano sulla strada e ,se fa ballare, lo tengono senza vincoli di appartenenza o purismi.“l’erba cattiva non muore mai” … e il traguardo dei primi dieci anni di palchi, dischi e partecipazioni sono la conferma che il detto vale ancora per questi amanti del levare.“preferiamo suonare il reggae… forse è soltanto quello che dobbiamo fare; lo suoniamo per ascoltarci e stare meglio. Il Reggae è quando chiudi gli occhi e balli dentro” .
