Il "Novarasta Sound System" nasce nel Settembre del 2006 dall'incontro tra i due dj: Riccardo Zanini e Raffaele "Lello" Matrone.
Il Sound System nasce tra la Curva Nord e i Centri Sociali con l'intenzione di portare avanti la scena reggae nazionale e internazionale con la produzione e la promozione di eventi legati alla cultura Jamaicana e alla musica reggae in tutte le sue espressioni.
Dalla nascita fino ad oggi, il Sound System, può vantare già tantissime collaborazioni: Mr.Fiss (percussionista senegalese), Dj Milidanz, Staff Millennium, S.U.N., LaRibalta Art Group, ass.Cult. "NonCapiscoMaMiDiverto", Novara Jazz Festival, Rototom Sunsplash, Radio Azzurra, Black Team (Dj Sonny e Gora).
Nasce anche, parallelamente al progetto musicale, la prima vera diffusione gratuita di massa della musica in levare con il sito (ora in ristrutturazione ,Ndr) - http://www.radionovarareggae.it -
La prima stagione del Novarasta Sound, 2006/2007, si conclude con i migliori risultati e i migliori propositi per il futuro: oltre 60 tra Dancehall nei boschi e aperitivi pettinati del centro.
Fino al 01 Luglio 2007, quando "Il Parco Caduti di tutte le Guerre" vede nascere il "SunDay", il primo festival Reggae ideato, organizzato e promosso dalla band novarese, che ha portato gratuitamente artisti come Hierbamala, Jah Love, NoEgo, Krikka Reggae e Jaka.
Il NovaRasta Sound continua a portare il reggae nei migliori locali di Novara e dell'Italia e nonostante gli innumerevoli tentativi d'imitazione, è l'unico sound system del capoluogo piemontese capace di trasformare ogni situzione in un dancehall indimenticanbile.
Oggi, NSS, è impegnato nella costruzione del SunDay08.

The Sound System was born between the football typhous and the social centers. The dream was contributing to the spread of the national and international reggae scene with the production and promotion of Jamaican culture and reggae music events.

The first Novarasta Sound's season, from 2006 to 2007, ends with the best results and the best intentions about the future: more than 60 dancehalls in the woods and glamour aperitifs in the city center.
Until the 1st July 2007, when in the "Caduti di tutte le guerre" Park the "SunDay" took place.
The SunDay is the first free reggae festival created, organized and promoted by the Sound System of Novara. On stage: Hierbamala, Jah Love, NoEgo, Krikka Reggae and Jaka.
Today NSS is organizing the SunDay 2008.
