About Me

I am just an average person who was in above-average health until I went into one of the 'top-rated' hospitals in Southern California for a minor 'routine' surgery.   A two day stay in the hospital turned into several months and almost cost me my life and limb...literally!

During my trip to the OR I contracted the dangerous Antibiotic Resistant Superbug , that causes NECROTIZING FACSIITIS or as it is more commonly known... "MAN-EATING FLESH DISEASE."

Originally termed "hospital gangrene," Necrotizing Fasciitis has a long history. During the Civil War, a confederate surgeon named Joseph Jones began recording incidents of hospital gangrene.   Necrotizing fasciitis has also been called "acute infective gangrene" and "streptococcal toxic shock syndrome."

There is a higher mortality rate when the head, neck, chest, or abdomen are involved. These areas are more difficult to treat, and critical structures reside within them. AND OF COURSE THAT IS WHERE I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE IT!!

Now I am making it MY MISSION to inform the masses about the 'dirty little secret' I've learned the hard way that hospitals don't want you to know.

The Centers For Disease Control (CDC) estimates that over 90,000 people a year die from infections they get in the hospital while receiving medical care.

This should be unacceptable in America in 2007!
