About Me

My Interests

NOTE: IF YOU ARE PRO-DECLAWING, DO NOT SEND A FRIEND REQUEST TO ME ...

PLEASE DO NOT DECLAW

Declawing is so much more drastic than the name implies. Claws are important to your cat's health. They use them daily for scratching, climbing, balance, defense, playing, kneading, and even self expression. From a cat's point of view, claws are not optional. No cat wants to be declawed! Declawing not only removes the claws, it removes part of the paw itself. What an extreme penalty to pay for engaging in natural and beneficial behaviors! Please do not make a decision that will alter your cat's life forever and probably cause them to fear you and their Vet, as well!

PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER

Someone asked me why I am so against declawing? I replied with all the reasons I have listed above and also stated that Mother Nature made them with claws for a reason. They asked me why then is it okay to spay or neuter? Where do you draw the line? My reply is simple:

Declawing causes suffering, spaying prevents it! This is common sense! You cannot convince me otherwise, so if you take issue with how I feel on these subjects, I'd prefer not to know, I do not have the energy to argue about this with anyone anymore!

MY BORING LIFE:

When I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but fate had other plans for me. Now I'm 46 years old and haven't danced in 18 years. I've survived a near-fatal illness and two divorces. It's time for me to start dancing again! I also plan to do a lot of traveling in the future, first to Toyko and other parts of Japan and then to London, Paris and Amsterdam.

I admit it: I'm a who loves to shop & a total eBay addict! I also love driving my Buick and snapping photographs at Solvang, Disneyland , Sea World and the zoos in L.A., San Diego and Santa Barbara.

... it seems like yesterday ...

... but it was long ago ...

I was my father's in-home health care provider for most of the final 18 months of his life. Congestive Heart Failure is a real b*tch. I miss Dad more than words can say, but am relieved that his suffering is over. He was a wonderful man. I was incredibly lucky to have been adopted by my Dad and Mom. Luckier still to have had Dad in my life for nearly 42 years. R.I.P. DAD.

Due to the disabilities my illness caused, I'm basically housebound. It's very difficult to meet new people! I work from home, maintaining several official websites for several popular cartoon voice over actors. I've made a lot of friends on the web via these websites, bur most live far away. I'd love to meet some new friends in Central and Southern California.

Make sure you check out my eBay Auctions !! My user name is BusterBabe . Lots of items will be listed over the holidays, October - January. I'll be offering discounts to my MySpace friends soon, so check out my blog from time to time for more details!

MY FAVORITE CLIENTS:

The Official Robin Shelby
www.robinshelby.com

Robin Shelby Navlyt is a very gifted singer and actress. She's been in some great movies (Ghostbusters 2, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Willow) and TV shows (Cybill), but is still waiting for her big break. I think that wait is almost over!

Robin's MySpace Profile

The Official Tara Strong
www.tarastrong.com

Tara is a twenty year veteran of cartoon voice over. She is best known as Bubbles (The Powerpuff Girls), Ben and Upgrade (Ben 10), Raven (Teen Titans), Timmy (Fairly Oddparents), Kylie (Extreme Ghostbusters), Rikku (FFX, Kingdom Hearts), Dil Pickles (Rugrats) and many others! It has been my honor to be her friend and webmistress for nearly ten years now.

Tara's MySpace Profile

Official Mary Kay Bergman
www.mkbmemorial.com

Mary Kay Bergman: Mary Kay was Disney's official voice of Snow White, most of the female voices on South Park and Scooby-Doo's Daphne Blake. Mary Kay was also a victim of an undiagnosed mental illness, Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Sadly, Mary Kay ended her own life on 11/11/99, at the age of 38. Her memorial is more than just about her career, we offer support to anyone who asks and links to suicide prevention and mental health information.

www.dinoandrade.com

Dino Andrade: Ms. Bergman's widower is also a voice actor. He's very talented, but not as well known as his late wife. At least, not yet! I am truly honored, not only to call him my friend, but also to work for him and have his support and this endorsement at MKB's original URL which is a dual gateway to both MKB sites.
In addition to Dino's official site at dinoandrade.com , I run two other websites for him: A & B Demoworks , where Dino creates pro demo reels for voice over actors and The Wrap Patrol , his company that strikes sets after studios finish filming on them. And as of July '07, I'm doing online PR for his new site: www.SoulGeek.com .

The Official Charlie Adler
http://adler.what.cc

The voice of Cow, Chicken and The Red Guy, Charlie Adler has over one hundred regular characters in more than eighty animated series, features and specials to his credit. He can be heard an average of twenty times a day all over the world, most notably as Buster Bunny in Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toon Adventures and Ickis in AAAHH!!! Real Monsters!

Frank Welker Homepage
mkbmemorial.com/FWHp/

FRANK WELKER RULES THE VOICE OVER WORLD! If you like video games, cartoons, film or TV, chances are you've heard Frank! He's voiced over 1200 roles, a lot of them, animals. He's been the voice of Freddy on Scooby-Doo for over 36 years and is Scooby now, too. I am proud to have Frank's "Seal of Approval" on my website and I'm honored to have his help. He even manages to make time to answer fan mail I forward to him. Frank is super cool! :)

My friend (Nora) & I are both avid toy collectors & sellers. There are toys in every room of my house and our cats have more toys than some children do! We adore toys! My mom gave me a Honey Moon doll on my 5th birthday, and my dad read the funnies to me every Sunday. As a result, I love Dick Tracy and have some really cool toys and memorabilia dating from the 1940s to present day. Currently, I'm reacquiring the dolls I used to own as a kid. I wish I would have held on to my originals because mint condition Liddle Kiddles can cause financial ruin! LOL Nora & I also have tons & tons of Disneyana. My favorites are Disneyland souvenirs from the 1960s. Anyway, if you have any unwanted toys, we'll gladly give them a home! LOL

I'd like to meet:

Long lost family. Old friends. Folks with kind hearts. Creative people: actors, artists, writers, musicians. Locals who like to go play at theme parks. Fellow survivors of NF . Fellow sufferers of LE . Maybe even YOU.

http://www.sammelville.com

Sam Melville was my friend for 14 years, from 1975 until his death in 1989. He was the kindest person I have ever met. All of us still miss him so much. I maintain his memorial site for his widow, Anne. Sam's Memorial is a true labor of love and helps us all feel like he is still with us.

Yummy, er, I mean pretty fishes! Yeah, pretty yummy!

If I didn't have claws, I could never do this!

I was a voracious scratcher as a kitten, now I am a well-behaved adult! Mommy let me keep my claws! I'm happy she did the right thing!

Pet me. Give me Whiskas Temptations cat treats. Resistance is futile.

Gracie is the newest addition to my family. She is Sunny's sister, about 10 months younger. My friend neglected to have their mother spayed. Even though Sunny and Gracie love each other dearly and are an absolute joy to watch play, I'm hoping their mother has since been fixed.

I'm pretty sure this photo is from Halloween 1965: Costumes were different, not as many TV tie-ins as now. My mom loved leopard print and drew whiskers on my face, she didn't want it covered by a mask. With me is Terry, the greatest dog in the world. Terry was about fifteen years old in this photograph. I was four.

Nora and I Spliting Peas in Buellton: This pic is actually a composite of two photos! Nora took two photos of me and I took two of her. One in each position. Then I spliced the best two together (the sign actually does have that line down the center, btw). We were amazed at how well our idea worked, but not surprised that Nora wound up being the one swinging the mallot! Photos taken: 01/04/2006.

Doreen and Nora Kick Back: If you've ever been to Solvang, you know you do a lot of walking there! Luckily, we found a few places to sit and just enjoy the sights, which is the theme of my composite postcard. If you go there, look for the ostrich farms on the way, they're totally trippy! Photos taken: 01/04/2006.

Farewell to Movieland Wax Museum: Here I am at MWM doing what I do best: acting like a goof! Nora, Joe and I had a blast in the Chamber of Horrors! This awesome forty-three year old Buena Park attraction closed its doors forever on October 31, 2005. MWM will definitely be missed! Photos taken: 10/26/2005.

Did you know? I rent a room to a werewolf! Click the image for a larger version of this collage I created for my spooky sidekick, Nora, aka the Big Bad Wolf scaring guests in the log ride (Red Moon Massacre) at Knott's Scary Farm. If you want to see her in action, drop by my spoooky house next Halloween for a fright!

When I was ill with NF in Feb. 2004, I was given a four percent chance of survival. Dino Andrade held my hand for hours while I was in the ICU. You can call me crazy if you want to, but I think Dino's "Red Haired Angel" (aka Mary Kay Bergman) wouldn't let me leave here just yet. There's little other explanation, given how far gone I was (end stage organ failure). It's a miracle that I didn't lose my entire arm, too. Thank you, Dino! Love you! Many thanks also go to Nora for spending every day of the entire six weeks I was hospitalized with me. Not many people would do that. She's a real trooper. By May, I was able to resume caring for my Dad until he passed away in March 2005. I was still adjusting to the amputation of parts of my right arm. Relearning to do things lefthanded was challenging and I am proud that I managed to retrain myself, but I'm still quite frustrated by my worsening Lymphedema. My 'online' friends have been my biggest source of comfort for the past three years. I want to thank you and tell you that I am here for you if you ever need me. I feel very close to you all, I've known some of you for nine years now. I've even become 'real world' friends with a few of you fellow Californians (and one New Yorker). I have enjoyed every moment we've spent together. I'm really lucky to have all you guys ... and I want you all to know I know that!

Some guy once wrote to me to tell me my favorite avatar (usually seen as my default image) is "silly." To me, it's "symbolic," or "inspiring." I was looking for graphics and found a cgi ballerina that made me cringe. Its right arm had an uncanny resemblance to mine. The dark line where my incision scars begin and the deep, dark armpit, similar to my amputated one. Even the glove resembles my former wound bandages and current compression bandages. I put my head on the cg body to help feel better about my arm and to inspire other Necrotizing Fasciitis survivors to feel better about their scars. I'd like to emphasize that I see us as "survivors" and not as "victims!" The aftermath of Necrotizing Fasciitis is very stressful emotionally. You're happy to be alive, but may also have to spend the rest of your life with scars, deformity, loss of mobility or range of motion, extensive nerve damage, an impaired immune system, Lymphedema, chronic pain and all sorts of other conditions. I got it all and then some. The hardest part is explaining what happened to me. I'd like to be looked at as "normal," but I can't hide my scars. When I made the base image of the graphic above, I was sad. It's my head again and I'm wearing an old paper doll tutu. My good arm is supporting my bad arm and the wings denote the seriousness of my illness: "This could've been me, if the NF had won." I've shared my story online because deadly bacteria can infect anyone at any time: during a routine medical procedure, at your gym or anywhere in your community. I wouldn't wish NF on my worst enemy (if I had one) and hope my efforts will spare someone else from suffering.

♥ Dino, thank you for sharing your angel with me. ♥

There's more, but I'm lazy! Here's a good laugh for you, though. When I was really little, I was in love with Andy Williams and used to kiss the TV screen whenever he sang!

Boy does THAT take me back! The '60s sure were groovy. I really want a time machine! Wouldn't that be ultra-cool?

Movies:

POTC 1, 2 & 3, Happy Feet, The Twonky, The Magic Christian, The Forbidden Zone, Some Like It Hot, Yellow Submarine, How to Frame a Figg, The Incredible Mr. Limpet, Rollerball, Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Long, Long Trailer, One Hour Photo, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Shaun of the Dead, Love at First Bite, Highlander, Alice in Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Pinocchio ... and many more!

I'll watch anything with Jackie Chan in it! I loved Trevor Goddard as Kano in Mortal Kombat. I'm probably a bit biased - Trevor used to be my next-door neighbor. The Wizard of Oz, old Danny Kaye movies and MGM musicals are also favorites. And Ghostbusters! The very first website I created was The Ghostbusters Fan Forum and it was a lot of fun! I made a lot of cool friends and it opened other doors for me, especially in the voice over community.

Another movie I really like and have watched over and over is HELLBOY . I loved Ron Perlman's performance and all the special effects rocked.

Television:

Pushing Daisies, Life, The Bionic Woman, [Scrubs], Heroes, Bones, Medium, Crossing Jordan, How I Met Your Mother, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Tru Calling, Cheers (Frasier & Lilith are a hoot), Frasier (Niles & Daphne stole the show), The People's Court, WEEDS, Two and a Half Men and many more!

I also really like two britcoms: Keeping Up Appearances and As Time Goes By. Some of my friends dislike KUA , but I think it's hysterical. Hyacinth, Daisy, Rose and Violet are the funniest sisters on television.

In 2006, I was addicted to watching old reruns of The Rockford Files. "Rockfish" was my favorite show when I was 18. I have loved drama all my life, as long as it's on television and not in my life! ;)

My love of drama, especially police drama, started with The Rookies , Columbo, Hawaii Five-0 and Baretta back in the '70s and Miami Vice in the '80s. In the '90s, I was hooked on COPS for a while (I have to admit reality is more entertaining than fiction). My favorite cop show now is Law & Order: SVU. Raines is pretty good, too. I wish Third Watch was still in production, that show had great characters. Sometimes I think I should have been a cop ... or married to one.

I like Family Guy and all the cartoons on FOX. I've watched so much South Park I've rotted my brain. There are days when I talk like Cartman more than me. Are women my age supposed to act like this?

I love anything by Jay Ward or with the late, great Hans Conried in it! Hoppity Hooper, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Dudley Do-Right, George Of the Jungle, Fractured Fairy Tales, Fractured Flickers, etc.

Standup Comedy:

Gabriel Iglesias

Carlos Alazraqui
Lewis Black
Frank Caliendo
Zach Galifianakis

Books:

Since there's no place else to mention it: I love artwork by SHAG (Josh Agle), Peter Max ('60s & '70s)! I also love the works of cartoonists Roz Chast (she is just too funny), Charles Addams and Edward Gorey. I'll read anything written by a voice actor or about voice acting. I was honored to find my name in The Magic Behind the Voices after helping the author. (Thanks, Tim!)
