Bill Pillmore

Looking for that little piece of mind...of mine.

About Me

Bill Pillmore is a guitarist and songwriter - plays , acoustic guitar, keyboards, some bass, lap steel, and pedal steel guitar in Asheville, NC. His new website is Bill Pillmore.com

Bill was a founding member of the groundbreaking seventies country-rock band Cowboy, on Capricorn Records, signed to the label at the insistence of Duane and Gregg Allman. The Allman Brothers Band and Cowboy played and jammed in their early days in Florida before moving to Macon , Ga. Cowboy later became one of the Allman Brothers favorite and frequent opening acts. Bill's contributions as a songwriter were paramount to their artistic success. Noted albums are "Reach for the Sky" and the critically acclaimed "Five'll Getcha Ten".

His debut solo album, "Look In Look Out" has already made waves on NPR's nationally syndicated show "Car Talk". "Look In Look Out" is a wonderful blend of up tempo toe tappers and soft, introspective ballads. It's available at CD Baby .

Bill currently has his own recording studio and independent record label RoadWorm Music and works out of Asheville, NC. "I am always looking for artisits that want to do small projects or live recordings."

On the agenda for 2008, he is recording material for his next album, buying and selling great guitars (looking for that inspiration in a box), and playing pedal steel with Jessie James and the Junkman's Daughter out of Hot Springs, NC.

There have been rumours about "putting the band back together man.."
