Debut CD 'August Design' available now!!!

About Me

In the short time that Mercurial has been together, they have become one of Perths most intense, original groups. The term mercurial aptly describes the music they create, which blends elements of hard rock, electronica and eastern music, presenting a sound quite unlike anything else.
Initially, Mercurial was simply a means for Brent Tunbridge to write and record songs on his own. After compiling a fairly large amount of demo material, Brent realised the potential of the project and began to seek other members to bring his vision to a stage. Eventually thorough networking in Perth paid off, and Brent found what would become the full lineup of Mercurial: Aaron Bridgeman on guitars, James Barber on synth and keys, and Jon Carlson on drums. Each member brought their individual strengths and expertise to the fold, and Mercurial evolved into the band it is today.
Mercurial played its first live show in September 2005, and in the last year has played with some of Perths best bands in some of its biggest venues. At roughly the same time as their first appearance, Mercurial began work on their self-released debut album, August Design, at Sovereign Studios. Produced by the band with Perth metal legend Aidan Barton, the album is 8 tracks of dark atmospheric rock.
The album was launched to a full house in Perths Amplifier Bar in September 2006. Already writing material for their next release, Mercurial are determined to leave their mark in the Perth scene and build a reputation as both a solid live act and studio entity.
