GARON

I’m a Mocker!

About Me

It was during this time and attitude that Garon released his second solo effort titled "Ready Steady Garon" on his own label K.R.E. Music. After many stints with various bands, and studio appearances over a sixteen-year career, Garon broke out his singing and songwriting skills to create some fine-tuned pieces that he compiled into this release. The twelve-track disk is a collection of some of his solo productions over a three-year period-beginning in the year 2000. His first solo release was a four-track E.P. in 1998 titled "4 More Songs of Love and War"-on which he did everything himself, from writing, to singing, to playing all instruments. "Ready Steady Garon", however, saw him opting to bring in a little instrumental help, but still focusing on being a solo release. Currently residing in southern California, and working with band mates Don Ian on lead Guitar and backing vocals, David Huet on bass, and Rickey Castro on drums, Garon is working on new material, while still plugging this David Bowie/T. Rex/Rolling Stones-influenced album. It contains his undeniably rock 'n' roll single "Get In", and a cover of Naomi Neville's song "Fortune Teller". After listening to "Ready Steady Garon" and reading about Mr. G online, it is easy to hear the repercussions of being influenced by the better chosen stars of the 50's crooners, 60's rockers, 70's glam rockers and punk kings, and 80's new wave and hair metal leaders. The songs are well-written and guitar-driven. They reflect his open mind towards a broad spectrum of musical talents. There are catchy and poppier tunes, some brilliant ballads, and even some southern-rock foot-stompers. "Ready Steady Garon" can be purchased through CD Baby.
