And now for my bio...
I hate bios. There's nothing worse than an artist getting someone to write a bunch of drivel about their "soulful awareness" or "technical proficiency." Wait, there is something worse, when they've obviously written it themselves. Then there's the list of quotes from rave reviews. My favorite quote about me is "Wammo's sensitive side can drink you under the table." My bio on the Spanker site was written by Louis Black of the Austin Chronicle but since he's not credited, lot's of people think I wrote it myself. So let's do something different here. Here's a list of all of the jobs I've had. I've been a...

I was born in NYC on 12/25/61, son of a Metropolitan Opera star. Moved to San Antonio when I was nine, where I promptly got the shit kicked out of me because I didn't "talk right." Learned how to talk right. Smoked my first cig at ten. Took my first drink and had my first orgasm at eleven (no, not on the same day.). Lost my virginity at sixteen, same year I started my first band. Swam competitively as a teenager. Played soccer in high school and college. Studied art and theater. Learned to drive and promptly wrecked a few cars. Did lots of drugs (hey, it was the seventies, then the eighties, then the... uh...) I moved to Austin after college. Started my first all original band, Oboyo and things sisyphusly steamrolled from there. I've been playing music in this town for twenty years.
My favorite TV station is VH1Classic. Right now they're playing Elvis Costello's Club Land. All they show is music videos, no reality shows, no makeovers. My favorite program on that channel is Metal Mania. When hair metal was hot, I could have cared less but now I love it. There's nothing like seeing a video by Celtic Frost, Zebra or Dokken to make me roll on the floor - in a good way.
I formed the Asylum Street Spankers with my friend, Guy Forsyth, in late March or early April of 1994. That same year I traveled with the Mtv Spoken Word Tour and Lollapalooza as a poet. Soon after I was signed to Mouth Almighty/Mercury Records to record an album. That record, Fat Headed Stranger was released in 1996. Wait, I have a better idea, how about a discography? I'll write it later, maybe. I hate researching myself and I can't remember what I did when, half of the time. Oh okay, I'll do it now...

Ok there's one thing I haven't written about yet. At the LA show, during the last tour, I set it up so I could have my hair cut into a mullet between sound check and the gig. Nobody in the band knew i...
