Life is what's happening now.......

About Me

Music has always been there..from those early schooldays in my home town, Harrrogate, Yorkshire to my adopted Abergavenny home....I know it now pays the bills (well, some of them!) but it's just part of me. Music has never been a competition but a personal challenge & journey. As a child I sang & learnt the flute & piano & by the time I left school it was clear I couldn't do much else! I eventually went to the Royal Academy of Music & studied flute with Gareth Morris who has been the most inspirational person in my musical life...sadly, he died this year. My career had a bumpy start with a bit of a near death experience and although I feel the best is still to come I have had some wonderful experiences. I've played flute in major symphony orchestras, a motley variety of ensembles, solo & on radio & television. I also teach, try to create & try not to say 'no' to any new experience (musically!). I will sing solo well in public one day but it may not be in this life. I enjoy live music & my tastes are eclectic. I have recently started to score-read for BBC TV productions & have become half of a folk duo.I play on a Stephen Wessel flute which was made for me & a Jack Moore headjoint. ( I also have a Bonneville solid silver flute for sale if anyone's interested!), & a Robert Bigio wooden headjoint & a new set of bansuri indian flutes & some very cheap whistles (but they still cost more than a penny!)My wish is to give music to people as honestly as possible & to give people a musical experience..& smile along the way!Get jaxtr | Login MyGen Profile Generator mspobj enableJSURL="false" enableHREF="false" saveEmbedTags="true" allowScriptAccess="never" allownetworking="internal" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="never" allownetworking="internal" height="230" width="445" align="middle"
