About Me

Hello I'm Huw and I'm from Cwmaman.....or 'Shang-Ri-La' as it's often referred to (mostly by me,though).
Come with me on a wander through the place on a Sunday morning.
For the most part I play guitar and sing with flautist Catherine Handley,
Huw Chidgey & Catherine Handley
(our myspace page)

and we have recorded 2 CD's of our brand of folk music. The first is called 'In the Tradition' and it was completed shortly after meeting each other in 2002. The current one is called ' A Journey', and this was done in 2006. Both are available at
www.creightonscollection.co.uk
as hard copy and download.
Before meeting Catherine, I was in the band 'Raglan', where we recorded a CD of the same name in 2001,
and before that, I was lucky enough to play with Andy McKay's
'Hanky Panky Band' for a good few years, recording 'Shoot the Invisible Dog' ,'A Bit of Hanky Panky' and my solo CD 'Ready When You Are' in that magic time.

I really enjoy playing solo gigs these days, when I'm asked to, and spend a lot of my daytimes teaching guitar in local schools, or playing concerts with Catherine for the Music in Hospitals charity, which takes us all around Wales and the West Country. You can find out more about the charity by going to their website

www.music-in-hospitals.org.uk
I also enjoy travelling and photography, and I'm sometimes lucky enough to do everything at once.
And here are some of the players I've had the pleasure of hearing and photographing over the last couple of years.
