About Me

This company is founded on the turn of the twentieth century idea of "joy to the maker, joy to the user". It is our belief that clothing can make you feel good--good about the way it is produced, good about the materials used, and good about the way it makes you feel when you wear it.By supporting sustainable fabrics such as bamboo, hemp and tencel we create a greater demand for those products and all that is involved in their production. At a grassroots level, each choice we make has the potential for creating great change. Demand mindful products and the supply will abound. We happen to greatly value fresh air, wide open spaces without pavement, and quite mornings, afternoons, and evenings. You can trust that each dollar we spend to make this company a success has a destination in keeping with those values. By supporting us you too support those values, and we sincerely appreciate it. My Interests

"YOU CAN establish a 'yellow bike' program for your town: get a bunch of cheap bicycles, paint them all an ugly yellow color, and leave them around town at specific drop points so people can ride them from one point to another. Voila! Public transportaion that is both free and autonomous.""YOU CAN brighten others' lives by passing out notes reading 'you are a beautiful person' or 'you deserve to be happy' or 'you can do it!' to total strangers" We decided to use Mnemosyne because the name is evocative of many things. She is the Titan daughter of Earth and Sky who gave birth to the nine Muses, inspirers of the arts. The name means memory, a mind full, and for us a mindful approach to creating. Looking and moving toward the future with an innate awareness of the past.Three women coming together to create, using sustainable and repurposed materials, in a shared vision of a brighter future for our earth.

I'd like to meet:

"YOU CAN rub lavender oil into your temples to relieve tension and pounding headaches.""Scarcity, propriety, cruelty, routine-these things seem like laws of nature, until you experience otherwise. You can't blame those who can't imagine more-only show them it exists. And so our charge is to be alchemists. Just as alchemists of bygone days strove to change lead into gold, we must make fortune from misfortune and magic of the mundane. Alchemy is the art of reinventing the world, of rearranging existing elements to create new possibilities. The alchemist understands it is the forces that count, the relationships, not the materials, not the things of the world. Any situation, every situation, can be revolutionized - you simply have to enter knowing your life is at stake. Our contest is with gravity, with the weight of inertia. It is up to us to shake it off - or turn it to our advantage. For the slothful man, gravity is a force to be feared, a hated master; he finds in it an argument against motion, action, life itself. But for the dancer, gravity is indispensable, beloved even. Without it, she would have nothing to play against, no counterponit for her strength and skill. She flies all the more gracefully for being born without wings. We must dance with our apprehensions, our agonies, our histories, or be paralyzed by them. With lightness of foot we can transform our centuries long history of destruction and disappointment into a mere prologue, the tragic overture before a beautiful symphony - justifying and absolving ourselves, and the world we know, in the process."She takes my hand and leads me breathless from the ruins. "Life is not retrospective," she confides. "Let's not be, either."

Music:

"YOU CAN start a food co-op with your friends and neighbors - ordering food in bulkfor all of you will save you alot of money.""It is absolutely collaborative, but I am the chief solutionist...I'm looking to evolve the concept of the new renaissance artist...We can market a better world, and change the world for the better using art...My allies are the world's leading authorities on global climate change and global warming, and they're also philanthropists and investors. They're allies, and we don't stop there. We're continuing to ally ourselves with people who are like-minded and powerful...It is going to take the many to accomplish our goals. So the individual solutionist is really the most valuable form of capital we've got. Human capital. People making better choices is going to be what inevitably gets us to where we need to be...We're going to love. I don't wait on the music industry to qualify me or give me a paycheck. I GO ABOUT MY BUSINESS AS AN ARTIST AND I BELIEVE THAT MY VALUE IS IN MY PRODUCT AND IN MY ART FORM, AND THAT'S WHY I CAN'T BE STOPPED...That's what sends me out into the world, and as I see this beautiful world, I want to do more and contribute more and stay in a position t do more and contribute more...In the last eight to ten years, my head has come around to really loving life and loving people and loving the world. It is something that I find comes quite naturally as a [wo]man. I enjoy it."Perry Farrell

Movies:

The clip you see above is of a young woman, Severn Suzuki from Vancouver, who approached the United Nations Conference on the Environment and Development in 1992. The impact of one well spoken voice is palpable and seen in the reactions of those who were there to listen, and those who listen now. It is inspiring to know that your actions as an individual can impact the good of a greater whole. "A 'perfect' society, idealistically speaking, would provide these qualities (change and dramatic meaning, a sense of power and aspirations) by encouraging each individual to use his potentials to the fullest, to revel in his challenges, and to be led on by his great natural excitement as he tries to extend powers of creative potency in his own unique way."
