Last April, hundreds of thousands of people came together in over 1,400 demonstrations and events across the U.S. to tell government to Step It Up and address climate change. These actions were carried out by high school students, moms, teachers, artists, carpenters, doctors, priests, surfers, and steel workers. And they can be carried out by you this November 3rd in your hometown, your classroom, church, or nearby city.
The events of last Spring drew on a variety of talents and collaborations. Across the country there were house parties, bicycle rides, BBQ’s, rallies, and art installations for climate action.
This Fall the Step It Up demands are stronger: 80% emission cuts by 2050. No new coal power plants, and a green jobs initiative creating millions of new jobs necessary to build a sustainable society.
We have an opportunity to make positive change for the future of the climate, and Greenpeace along with dozens of other organizations are supporting this grassroots national demand for action. But we can only do it with you! You can join an action in your area, and if there isn’t one, you can start one.
Tell everyone you know and get excited to Step It Up!
PEACE
