About Me

WATCH THIS FILM.
For more than 10 years, Idaho musicians Viktor Wilt and Nick Stevens have been making a name for themselves in the northwest. While still in high school, they began to tear up the Pocatello music scene in "BoSoGa", opening for notable national acts such as Static X, and the Jim Rose Circus. With the dissolution of the BoSoGa lineup, the two, along with Joe Hamilton, and Judith Murray, formed a new band under the name of "Dr. Seuss is Dead". Over the next 5 years the extremely crushing, yet painfully catchy band played with hundreds of artists, sharing the stage with well known acts Testament, Nothingface, Nile, The Haunted, Nevermore, Cephalic Carnage, Goatwhore, DRI, and countless others.
Not the type to stick to one genre, or do what the masses would expect, Viktor and Nick began work on a second project. It was initially intended to be a studio based project, with no plans for live performance. The compositions began to take a shape incredibly different from anything they, or their peers ever expected. After an intense spiritual experience in the mountains near Oakley, Idaho in 2005, Viktor brought forth a name spoken to him from deep within the outer reaches of the galaxy, and The Reptilians unleashed themselves upon an unsuspecting public.
The project was launched quietly through a MySpace page in 2005. The blend of influences in their sound, ranging anywhere from The Beatles to black metal legends Mayhem, attracted listeners from all walks of life, and the traffic on the page began to increase at an unexpected pace. Then, in early 2006, The Reptilians took to the stage for the first time. A private performance amongst their peers was received with incredible praise, and they booked their first public performance. They picked a slot at the annual Pokapalooza fest in Pocatello, and their completely instrumental setlist was received with shock and confusion, yet their unique style, which they dubbed "applecore", attracted many new devotees, as well as a second place prize.
They continued performing live across the state, and in mid-2007 released two albums directly to the internet. "Welcome to Dugway!" and "XAPPLEXCOREX" were received with fantastic reviews. The band chose to release the albums as a 100% free download, including artwork for both albums. These albums can still be downloaded for no charge at www.spacnumrecords.com. Their revered performances from a secret concert at the City of Rocks National Park, as well as two back to back performances at Rock The Mountain X, can be accessed on various internet video sites, and have recieved tens of thousands of views.
After some line-up struggles in late 2007, they joined forces with good friend Chance Smith taking on the bass duties. They are currently preparing for their next studio release, an epic 78-minute journey that will change the face of music forever. Mark those words.
Limited summer performances for 2008 have been booked, check the schedule at myspace.com/reptilians for details!
BLAKEFEST:
"When I heard about Blakefest, I immediately began shooting emails out so that we could become involved. I have witnessed first hand the dangers of methamphetamine in Idaho, having watched many friends lose their freedom, and nearly lose their lives due to the evil of that drug. I think it's fantastic that the Idaho Meth Project has finally started to bring the realities of meth abuse to the eyes of the public. I've read public complaints about their strong visual medium for getting their message out, and that just drives me crazy. No one wants to see the truth in this world today. I don't think that many people realize how serious the issue is, nor how quickly and easily it can destroy a person for life. So anything we can do to support the Idaho Meth Project, we will do. However, music is also one of the best mediums for bringing forth change, and I commend Blake and Michell Shropshire for booking so many great bands to bring this message to the young people of Idaho." -Viktor Wilt
