About Me

Friend Rock presents...THE OTHERSWith chart singles and an NME front cover, The Others' songs for the dispossessed have struck a chord with the messed-up and marginalised everywhere. Previous Others shows have seen fights, freak-outs, stage invasions, crowdsurfing and mass singalongs. They've done a gig on a tube, a gig in the foyer of a BBC studio and now they're finally back in Manchester promoting new album 'Inward Parts'.WAXPLANETHaving been top of the NME Stereo, NME Breaking Bands list and with mentions in Flux magazine, its no wonder that these local indie pop heroes have etched their name into the hearts and minds of every self respecting scenester in Manchester. Sounding like a cross between The Jesus & Mary Chain and Franz Ferdinand with even more catchy pop rock hooks, Waxplanet are our top tip for the 'next big thing' in artrock indie.+ Special Guests

The term 'Friend Rock' was stolen from the title of an essay we read. We thought it would make a good name for a nice evening of entertainment, and so we kept it.
Friend Rock is an evening of general audible delight, we change our mood a lot. We've had everything from industrial punk to twee bleeps and beats. We reckon there's something for everyone.
Add us. Tell your classmates and friends to add us. Tell your Mummy and Daddy to add us. You can't have too many friends, can you.
We might stay up until past bedtime though, so before coming ask if you're allowed to stay up.

PS: Rest in peace, Tony. You're the reason we're doing this mate. x
