This page is dedicated to: the scores of children who have died in Gulu, northern Uganda; the children who have been abducted & robbed of any semblance of a normal life & who long to be reunited with their parents; the young boys & girls living with the sickening reality that they were forced to beat, shoot, & kill their own family members & friends; the beautiful young Ugandan girls who have been raped & sold in exchange for weapons by soldiers of the Lord’s Resistance Army; the good samaritans who have lost their lives trying in an effort to assist & save these children; & to all of our dear friends who are working to assist countries & peoples shackled by war, disease, poverty, & famine.
The video clip below was produced by
Seven Lampstands
As part of an initiation ceremony for kidnapped LRA child recruits, children as young as five years of age are forced to brutally attack other children or face execution themselves; as they are told by their captors, "kill, or be killed.". Since the beginning of the conflict in Northern Uganda nearly 21-years ago, the Lord's Resistance Army led by Joseph Kony, has kidnapped over 25,000 of these children & forced them to serve as soldiers & sex slaves. Children have been targets of LRA abductions throughout the conflict between the LRA and the Ugandan government in the northern part of Uganda, which began in 1986.

If you would care to lend your assistance by any means, please feel free to submit any questions or comments. Your assistance does not have to be restricted solely to financial contributions. Merely adding our project to your friends list & posting bulletins to promote & raise awareness to the plight of these children is a tremendous help & is deeply appreciated.
One Open Eye, Inc. is led by 25-yr old Ugandan-born Patricia Namyalo, ( patricia namyalo ) who currently works in the United States to ensure that the voices of these children do not go unheard. She has recently partnered with American-born musician Chris MacFhearghuis ( the rogue minstrel ) , who for ten years has independently used a mixture of progressive rock, world music, & psychedelia to examine human consciousness. Patricia & Chris have pledged their efforts to both the struggle for peace in northern Uganda & to the children of the Nazareth Children’s Home in Masaka, Uganda. Any questions or comments left on this page will be addressed personally by either Patricia or Chris.
One Open Eye's "Project Gulu" is also supported by Ugandan hip-hop artists Abramz & Sylvester, who through their music have managed to send out a positive message to these kids. Abramz is one of the founders & managers of the Breakdance Project which was founded to provide therapy to the children of Gulu, & he has worked extremely hard to put smiles on the faces of the disadvantaged children & orphans of the region, showing them through time & dedication that there are caring individuals who have not forgotten them.
"Project Gulu" is further assisted by AK-47, a member of SwampKamp , a dynamic African hip-hop ensemble born & based in Uganda. Their powerful performances of music filled with meaning & message led to a concert for peace in the war-torn northern town Gulu. This group continues to join up with the Blood Brothers for the Peace, Love & Unity Tour of West Nile during the Christmas & New Year period.
One of our hopes is to ensure that every school in Uganda is educating kids about the atrocities that are occurring in the northern region of their own country in the hopes that they will be empowered to make a difference by holding fundraisers that will assist Gulu children & provide for them a better life. You can help fill a void in these children’s lives by donating a blanket, clothing, pens, pencils, new & used books, & unwanted shoes.
Please view the videos on this profile to get a clearer picture of the situation in Gulu. There’s a very important poem that you might want to read & forward to friends to help. Leave an email address & request for the poem & we will be sure to send that to you as well.

How do I separate myself
i don't
for am apart
How can I just walk away
i can't
for I care
Will there ever be peace in gulu
there will
for I know
Every war has a begining
and an end
or it wouldn't be a war

"If every member of the House and Senate had received 100 letters from people back home saying we have to do something about Rwanda, when the crisis was first developing, then I think the response would have been different."
-Senator Paul Simon

It's not to late to do the same for Uganda or Sudan. Be one more voice

I'd like to meet:

Fun-loving & sincere people who would like to join &/or assist the cause for Gulu’s children. Thousands of kids & parents have been forced to leave their homes & lands, their only source of food. They have been placed in camps with the vain hopes that they will be safe from attacks led by the Lord’s Resistance Army. One camp was attacked late at night & burned to the ground. Most of the children & their parents died that night, unable to escape.Imagine thousands of people locked in a camp with little water. Lack of food & medicine in these camps cause hundreds of deaths everyday. This is not acceptable protection, & the world has turned a blind eye for too long. This war has brought terror & atrocities for more than 21 years, & the children & the people of Gulu deserve peace. How many women must be raped & tortured by the Lord’s Resistance Army for the world’s people to take notice & do something? How many children have to be kidnapped & forced into soldiery for us to say that this is not acceptable in our world? It may seem that the problem has no solution, but if we could all raise our voices to say that we will not allow the plight of these people to go unnoticed or ignored, then there is truly hope for peace in northern Uganda. Ask us how you can help.
