Hello, my name is Kimberly, and this space was created to share in one of my greatest passions...supporting Africa. Let this also be a place to share in raising awareness and making friendships with others who support this greater need. I'll start by making it perfectly clear that I do not want be, nor will I be, involved in handling any donations. Should you choose to show your support through giving money, please browse the links/profiles listed to find one of your interest.
For years, Africa has weighed heavy on my heart, and after praying for guidance, the Lord led me to a non-profit organization called www.angelcovers.org. It was there that my husband and I decided to give monthly support to two young boys by the names of Ryan and Musa. These boys are part of the Maasai who live in poverty. Without our monthly donation of $15 per boy, they would not have a guaranteed meal, education, school uniform, and health care. We've built a close relationship with these boys, and are truly blessed by them both. It's amazing how humble they are.
Along with our sponsorships, we had the pleasure of getting to know a wonderful man; who we call family, by the name of Emmanuel Tasur. Emmanuel is the Executive Officer for the Namunyak Maasai Welfare. This man has an amazing testimony and was born with a servant's heart. He's been our connection with the boys who live near him. Emmanuel is not only working with Angelcovers.org, but he works with Villagevolunteers.org, along with other commitments, in supporting the place he calls home. After starting the sponsorships, I asked my church home to get involved (NorthPointe Community Church) . I put the youth/children's department in touch with Emmanuel, and from there, they are sponsoring more children, they've raised money for special projects, and our Student Ministries Pastor Kevin Manning went, along with a team from our church, on a missions trip to the Maasai Village in Kenya where Emmanuel lives, as well as visiting and serving in Rwanda. You can visit Kevin's myspace to see/read more.
If you're sitting there thinking how can I help?? Just pick a link or take the simple step of saying a prayer. If you wish to involve your church in special projects, please send me a message. Maybe you have questions? Feel free to ask! God Bless You!
