KEEP IT TOGETHER!This is the remarkable story of London's anti social communal bands of the 1960s and 1970s, from the perspective of two of its most crucial exponents.
Fuelled by amphetamine psychosis and the music of Bob Dylan and the Fugs, The Deviants and Pink Fairies were bands of the people playing for free from flatbed trucks, and alternatively on bills alongside the likes of Led Zeppelin.
Keep it Together! tells of the musical and social movements key in shaping a London that had been swinging but was rapidly moving away from psychedelia into far more brutish territory. It is a tale that includes the Edgar Broughton Band, the Pretty Things, Tomorrow, Hawkwind, and a host of other influential bands and dodgy geezers, with many exclusive interviews and photographs.
