Lightning Raiders

The original lineup featured John Hodge ( the known as Little John ) on guitar, Andy Allan on Bass, Paul Cook( yes that Paul Cook ) on Drums, and Steve Jones ( yes that Steve Jones ) on Guitar - they released a 7" single ( Psychedelic Musik b/w Views - Arista 341) in 1980The next lineup - led by Little John Hodge - was joined by Gass Wild on Lead Vocals ( Gass later drummed with Johnny Thunders and the Chrissie Hynde Band - later known as The Pretenders. He also fronted the Jimmy Miller produced Mannish Boys ( which featured Honest John Plain of The Boys on Guitar ). He is currently fronting The Love Pirates in New York City - whose ranks have included Michael Monroe and Sami Yaffa among others. Pink Fairies member Duncan Sanderson on Bass, Bruce Irvine on guitar, and George Butler on Drums rounded out the lineup who in 1981 recorded the Will Reid Dick produced 12" EP for Island Records which included the rocking Lightning Raider numbers :Sweet Revenge/Rowdies/Addiction / and Soul Rescue (Revenge Records 12 inch RSS 39 - A four cut 12 inch preview of the forthcoming Raiders LP 'Sweet Revenge', and hugely entertaining it is too ! ) Alas - just before Christmas of that year the Lighning Raiders were dropped, making the rare deleted EP a valuable artifact - fetching $200 and up on ebay !
