Hi im Alan Butcher,Alan Anger to some.Born in Dulwich Hospital in coronation year.Im an ex-punk rock journalist. Me and my wife Irene,an artist born in the UK with Italian family background,have had three kids...Adam, Dylan and Kelly.Ive always been into ancient history,fantasy,the wild west,music,movie,theatre and books and magazines. Wrote fanzine (live wire-named after an AC/DC song)during punk years[Pete Townshend wrote his famous punks and mods piece in it],made a single with the cockneynwesterns[ex Rowdies with Honest John and Jack Black from The Boys,Phil Spalding and Mark Harrison from the Bernie Torme Band/Nips},I also recorded a song called,Pick me up with The Boys[a booze tinged classic according to its author,Casino Steel],managed Defiant, put on gigs for charity involving Wreckless Eric,Nips,Torme,etc,was road manager for the boys,Later published loud magazine.Also managed and wrote articles in zig zag on The Boys,Nips,saw theJam in USA as well as 100 Club,Brighton,here there and everywhere,Toyah[on tour],Hollywood Brats,Plesers,etc.The best interviews were with Andy Mackay of Roxy Music and Freddie Fingers Lee[they had more to say,being older].I went to Kennington school[the same as Roger Moore did years before me]and Brockwell Primary before that.Brought up in South London but now living in North London.Used to do abit of boxing for the Lynn club alongside Terry Waller,who became a champion.My parents took me to see The Beatles as well as The Who and Hendrix and the first albums I bought in the seventies were Led Zeppelin 2 and Threshold of a dream by the Moody Blues.Had a go at deejaying in the early seventies,playing the New York Dolls and Flaming Groovies to the unconverted and Stray,beggars opera and Gary Wright for the headbangers.I went to the Isle of Wight at the age of 16 plus saw loads more gigs at the Marquee,Lyceum,etc.Used to follow The Faces and Rory Gallagher wherever they played.My first time backstage was when I met a band called Heads Hands and Feet who featured Tony Colton,Albert Lee and Chas [not yet in Chas and Dave].They played at Hyde Park with Humble Pie and Grand Funk.I have done a thousand jobs since being a tea boy at the Daily Express.."http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnByb2ZpbG VzdHlsaW5nLmNvbS8=" target="_blank"> ..
