About Me

"SLIM TIM SLIDE? HE ROCKS! YOU'RE REALLY GONNA LOVE HIM" (QUOTE FROM LARRY WALLIS 2006, TA LAZZA...)Slim Tim Slide (Tim Rundall) was born exactly at midnight (you could hear Big Ben chiming!) and got his first guitar in 1969 for his birthday - he has been making music ever since both as a solo artiste and as a member of various combos. Back in the 70s he was a member of agitprop- dadaist-art group the Bloodclaats who featured regularly in the NMEs "Garageband" section. Before that he'd played solo around Britain, France and Italy but the B'Cs were his first real group experience. Joining forces with Jamaican schoolfriend Martin Campbell he became half of duo Dr Dub Versus Mr Mix, a studio based reggae project which produced masses of work through the eighties selling numerous one-off 10" slates to various dub sound systems. Much of this work still exists and some has since been properly released over the years under various titles, some also re-mixed by acid house DJs to much acclaim in the clubs of Brighton, London & Ibiza. Also during the mid-seventies several gigs took place with Steve Lake (later of Zounds) in particular at Watchfield Free Festival (Steve's first gig!) the day after the birth of Here&Now - the stage was still vibrating! - a few years later Slim Tim was asked to join Zoundz but apparently the other guitarist threatened to break his fingers so... Currently working mostly solo (and now and then as a busker) Slim Tim is also a member of 'Blues Punk Hooligans' Thee Uncontrollables working out of Brighton. Regular gigs include The Real Music Club in Brighton run by Honkin' Stu, Tim and Judge Trev (from Inner City Unit) where he alternates solo gigs with Uncontrollables sessions. Check out the club at realfestivalmusic.co.uk As well as this Tim has occasionally collaborated with such luminaries as Mick Farren, Captain Sensible and Monty Oxymoron, the latter two joining in at the Real Music Club on numerous occasions. Involvement with Farren came about due to Slim Tims' former stewardship of the Pink Fairies own magazine UHCK some years back which resulted in - amongst other things - the release of two Pink Fairy CDs (still available, mail me for details) and mutual friendship. He was scheduled to be support act at the 'Fairies Roundhouse reunion but sadly this was cancelled at the last minute, however a recent slot at the launch party for the Pink Fairies book 'Keep It Together' saw him playing with drummer George Butler and ex-MC5'er John Sinclair (see pics section and the 'keep it together' site) There is quite a bit of video footage of Slim Tim dotted around the net, particularly stuff shot at the last two Big Green Gathering festivals (see Captain Stupidt's site)- here is one of the man playing a song last summer shot by audience member and kindly sent in:Uncontrollables 2004 Buddha Lounge

Band Members: Slim Tim Slide is mainly a solo act but also plays as half of a duo with Honkin' Stu on blues harp, in sometime duo 'Stumpy & Stinky' with Judge Trev from Inner City Unit, as one third of punk- blues trio Thee Uncontrollables and in collaboration with numerous others, in particular at present with Jaki Windmill who used to play djembe in Space Ritual (the ex-Hawkwind members band) - he plays on her new album "Lusty Frolicker' (a naughty anagram!). He is also part of the Real Music Club which holds monthly gigs in Brighton, is supported by the Arts Council, and can be viewed in more detail at Realfestivalmusic.co.uk
Influences: First off if you can read (and if yr lookin' at this I'd hazard a guess you can) then you have no excuse for not reading 'Straight Life' by the late lamented Art Pepper, simply the best book about music and associated lifestyles ever written. As for the rest, inna random order stylee...
