About Me

“Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion, to embrace all living creatures, and the whole of nature and its beauty.” -Einstein
METAL QUEEN!!! :D I am also a passionate manic and as such am always doing something. I was born on Friday the 13th. I have a full-time job as head of the copy department at an advertising firm during the day, mostly being an editor. Yes, I work in an office with my green hair and tattoos, and wear lots of high heels. ;) I also teach kickboxing and vinyasa yoga (there's my yin AND yang) among other things for crunch in the evenings after work. Then I work out after that. & nowadays I also run in Prospect Park 5-6 days a week. In addition, I tend bar on friday and saturday nights at one of the coolest most rockin' bars in NYC - Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn, where I was born (the borough, not the bar). ;) Check out myspace.com/lucky13saloon for more info.
I'm a sagittarius: honest, brutal, blunt - sometimes to a fault. I like chicks, mostly, but not always. ;) I am madly in love with animals; two cats, Oberon and Choco, and two dogs, Chloe and Squiggy, share my home, all rescues, of course. I will not contribute to the suffering and harm of animals so therefore I am a vegan. It is a healthy, cruelty-free and good for the environment lifestyle that also helps keep me in shape, yay. I am a bibliophile to the extreme so bring me your favourite book sometime or just tell me what it is so I can read it. I also write some stuff myself. some of it is even pretty ok. sometimes some of it even gets published. I used to poetry slam and still do a reading once in a great while. I have written about half of an autobiographical novel but it's on hold until I can find the time off to work on it. I had a story published in one of the major BEST LESBIAN EROTICA anthologies because I've got it like that. I have an essay in an upcoming anthology titled Coming out of the Closet Again, Suspect Thoughts Press. and occasionally I do a little modeling for super-cool photographers. I call it "modeling-lite." If you want to shoot me drop me a note & show me what you do. I'll sleep when I'm dead.
I consider myself hatched. I don't have anything resembling a normal "family" and do not have to utter the non-relevant words "mom" or "dad" so I have made my own family for the most part. I did meet my then 20-year old sister in 2006, and lo and behold, she rocks and it's AWESOME. :) But if you are one of the people in my close inner circle, you already know I love you and would do anything for you. Except maybe eat a hamburger. :PI put myself through college mostly by being a stripper, which I have no regrets about but wouldn't necessarily recommend. I was also a pro-domme, Mistress Absinthe, on and off for many years in case you recognize me from that world. hi. I'm not currently accepting slaves so stop asking. unless of course you are offering a whole lot of $$ to beat the shit out of you, then maybe. >:)
I was also in the band Unto Ashes, for about 4 years. It was great, sometimes it was fun, usually it was interesting and at other times it was challenging and a lot of drama. I liked recording a helluva lot more than playing out. I played quite a few different instruments and sometimes sang. And yes, my name has been completely excised from their website (thx for the head's up P) because, apparently, I am the antichrist. ;) C'est le vie. You will still find my name, where I sang & the instruments I played in the liner notes of the first few CDs we released. I must admit that life became much more drama free post-Unto Ashes, so onwards and upwards. :)I love passionate people. I love honest people who offer it up the way it is with no bullshit. I love people who don't care what other people think and express their individuality in interesting ways. and I don't judge a book by its cover... you shouldn't either.
All my tattoos are by Anil Gupta (except a couple of small ones: the OM on my right wrist by Jason Guilbault, RIP; a 13 behind my ear on the left side of my skull by Wiley @ Daredevil tattoo and a sparrow on my back by Michelle, owner of Daredevil). I have been going to Anil since 1994. Click HERE for his website. now you can all stop asking me who does my tattoos and where he is and see the genius that is Anil for yourself. :)
People generally think that it is the world, the environment, external relationships, which stand in one's way, in the way of one's good fortune.... And at bottom it is always man himself that stands in his own way. -Kierkegaard
Courage, strength, and hope possess my soul... I will stand firmly and without fear. -Goethe
I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men. -Leonardo Da Vinci

Chihuahua/ Italian Greyhound mix who will steal your heart! I love to cuddle and even get a little nervous when my special person leaves me alone. I'm getting along just fine with my canine foster siblings--my foster mom hopes I can even make some doggie friends once I get a little more comfortable. I should go to a home without youngs kids--I like my 9 year old foster person alot, but he is very gentle with me. I won't do well around little ones who grab and pull. My foster Mom thinks I'm a doll. I'll need a loving home with a patient person who will help me to learn to trust humans again using only positive reinforcement techniques! My housebreaking is coming along very well. I can't wait to go to my forever home! I am about 7 years old. To adopt this handsome guy, go to http://www.waggytailrescue.com & fill out an application! By going vegan for ONE MONTH, you save:
* 8000 gallons of water
* a quarter acre of land
* a quarter ton of soil erosion
* a half ton of polluting animal manure
* the CO2 equivalent of 270 pounds of greenhouse gases
* the energy equivalent of burning 7 gallons gasoline
* 160 pounds of crops wasted on farmed animals
* innocent animals from unimaginable suffering

* Raising animals for food causes more water pollution in the U.S. than any other industry because animals raised for food produce 130 times the excrement of the entire human population---87,000 pounds per second! Much of the waste from factory farms and slaughterhouses flows into streams and rivers, contaminating water sources.
* Each vegetarian saves an acre of trees every year! More than 260 million acres of U.S. forest have been cleared to grow crops to feed animals raised for meat, and another acre of trees disappears every eight seconds. The tropical rain forests are also being destroyed to create grazing land for cattle. Fifty-five square feet of rain forest may be razed to produce just one quarter-pound burger.
* Of all raw materials and fossil fuels used in the U.S., more than one-third is used to raise animals for food. Producing a single hamburger patty uses enough fossil fuel to drive a small car twenty miles and enough water for seventeen showers.
* Of all agricultural land in the U.S., 87 percent is used to raise animals for food---that's 45 percent of the total landmass in the U.S.
* More than half the water consumed in the U.S. is used to raise animals for food. It takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce a pound of meat, but only 25 gallons to produce a pound of wheat. A totally vegetarian diet requires 300 gallons of water per day, while a meat-eating diet requires more than 4,000 gallons of water per day.
* In the U.S., animals raised for food are fed more than 80 percent of the corn we grow and more than 95 percent of the oats. The world's cattle alone consume a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people---more than the Earth's entire human population.
