About Me

3 years ago, I inadvertantly self-released an album by the name of ByDayByNight. I say inadvertantly because my intention was really to hone my skills as a writer and my recordings were my practice. Fortunately, that music got out and folks began putting in orders. I couldn't refuse the sales or the opportunites to license my work and perform around the world. In that time with the help of family, friends, my biz partner and homie Michi Chassagne, Unisex Records (UK), P-Vine (JAPAN), ABB Soul (US), Dr. Wax and Dusty Groove and countless other supporters through-out the years, I was able to sell over 17,000 cds (and still selling...)NOW, I'm on to the new, ready to share the me now: PleasureVille due to be released this summer is my newest baby, focus, love, passion, headache, grind, etc. Same grind, different day! Please download and please share with friends. At least until Damon Bennett, Tristan Leral and I complete PleasureVille.

Band Members: As with ByDayByNight, PleasureVille is a journey of stories, this time, using elements of the good music of yesterday, the basics. Good feel, driving arrangement ranging from the grit of the juke joint to the thickness of big band simple and organic beginnings. Expect to hear a bit of juke joint grit, shuffles and honest lyrics. Vocally, expect to hear more playing.I, sometimes poke fun at the digital process of making music these days. I just think it's funny to watch the copy & paste of sound. I was pleasantly surprised to create with someone who is not only a very talented, skilled and experienced engineer, but equally a an talented & skilled musician and composer. The collaboration with Tristan Leral (producer & engineer) was monumental in the realization of PleasureVille. Drawing inspiration from my love and affinity for The Wiz, doo-wop, family and my Daddy's Caddy, Tristan was able to infuse his own influences inspired by Issac Hayes, Stevie Wonder & Quincy Jones. My jazzy vocals + his funky tunes = PleasureVilleAs you can gather, I'm excited about all of this. From recording to performing to sharing. It was fun to create and is fun to listen to. I hope I've infected you with the same excitement. Now pass a lil "Sugah" along on to a friend.
