Hot Water Cornbread, LLC (HWC) originally began in 2002 with two poets and a passion. It has since become a poetical movement geared towards enabling the artistic innovators of today's society to "spread the word".HWC was established for the poetical guardians of the frontline; for those poets and writers who strive to pass on teachings and messages to the masses encouraging freedom of thought, speech, and creativity.We currently have 3 powerful events circulating in Oakland with The Soul Cypher at Club Anton's (monthly Spoken Word Showcase), Mouth Off Wednesdays at the Air Lounge (weekly open mic) and the upcoming Spoken Word Soul Fest (Dates and Locations Coming Soon). In addition, you can tune into Hot Water Radio, our premier spoken word and music station featuring the hottest in live and prerecorded entertainment around!In a society where following your passion is not always encouraged, HWC realizes that sometimes, assistance is needed to carry out the mission at hand. They support those individuals who plan to participate in literary arts and educational programs, as well as community initiatives and development.
