About Me

To be defined......

My Interests

As you might have guessed, my live mostly evolves around music. That already was the case since there was only a tiny Marco around. Nowadays I play music (bass), produce and mix music as a sound engineer and I’m a DJ occasionally.

Music:

In general I can say: There are only 2 kinds of music to me. Good and bad music. I don’t really pay that much attention categorizing music and take it more as it comes. Either I like what I hear or I don’t!? Style is not really important in that matter. The most music I like is rock and metal related and I also love Industrial, oldschool-80’s, gothic and wave. A few of my favorites in this are: NIN, Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy etc…Also most kinds of Symphonical-rock and Prog belong to my favorites. For that matter I’m a big fan of bands like: Marillion and Rush. It’s all mood dependence.

Movies:

Christ, movies!? Where do I start…. I’m a big movie freak! All Kevin Smith of course (he rocks!!). But high up in my favorites list is still Monty Python. Especially The Quest For the Holy Grail and Life of Brian. But I also like the old Sci-Fi classics, Looney Tunes, Muppets and an occasional Splatter.

Television:

Dutch television sucks! (For the people who are not familiar with the concept) we have a production company in the Netherlands called Endemol who f*cks all television entertainment as we know it, with reality programming like Big Brother and other crap. Therefore I mostly watch an occasional movie, Discovery Channel, the Simpsons (of course!!), Married with Children and Bottom (if they pull another re-run).

Books:

I have to read a lot for my profession. That leaves me little time and energy to also read for entertainment.

Heroes:

Well, my greatest hero can be viewed in my picture index. That would be the coolest, most lovely scientist’s assistant ever known to mankind: Beaker! Other than that, from my bass playing perspective, I’d have to definitely add heroes like Stu Hamm (Satriani), Flea (Chilly Peppers), Steve Harris (Maiden) and Steve Bailey (the fretless dude) in whom I’ve taken a great example. They also contributed in my endless love for this beautiful instrument.
