I was born on New Orleans and live my childhood and youth in Champaign, Illinois, studing bass and piano, played in the stage band at Champaign High School, I was selected to the Illinois All-State Band. Following high school in Norwich, Vermont, and assisted to Berklee College of Music in Boston.
There I meet the guitarist Steve Vai and, through him, meet Joe Satriani. I played bass on Vai's debut solo album, Flex-Able, which was released in 1984.
