How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace editor .
Born at the end of the 20th Century, always attracted by the music.
At 9 I began as singer in a recital on the life of Jesus Christ, they gave me the burden to open the recital as a soloist. Definitely treble voice, I collected many congratulations about my intonation, it was a revelation also for me. In this phase I have to thank my great friends and initial music trainers Franca Timo and Don Leonardo Botta.
Anyway, for a while I did not continue with the singing activity but the music grew inside of me. I tried with no success the classic guitar and keyboards. Until I discovered the heavy metal. At 18 I was borrowed an electric bass which I developed in one night my first 3 metal covers: The Trooper, Flight Of Icarus and Revelations of Iron Maiden.
I decide that my music path is this: the bass .
My parents buy for me my first real instrument: Fender Jazz Bass Special, 1987. First music adventures start.
A further improvement was my last live exibition with this bass: a great guitarist, Matteo "Yngwie" Salvi, contacted me and in 1 week time we put in place a half an hour show. Ok, I have to believe, I have to try!
I change instruments and I buy a valuable instrument: my first big 100W amplifier, Trace Elliot, with a single 15" cone but mainly a 5 strings Warwick Thumb Bass that I still hold today.
I start to study different musicians: Michael Manring, Pete Trewavas (Marillion) but in particular Billy Sheehan and Stuart Hamm. By the last two I inherited my main music technique, even if they cannot be achieved they opened my mind!
In addition to that, I can see the possibility to realize my dream.
I get back to the sacred music, as a member during the birth of the Coro Polifonico di Finalmarina (directed by the Maestro Paolo Gazzano). My meeting with Paolo allows me to make many sacred concerts, as tenor, bass and countertenor. I've also been engaged by the Coro Polifonico of Pietra Ligure and in the Li Musici Del Finale, then I co-direct the Coro of Finalmarina. My engagement is absolutely complete, sacred-classic on one side, rock-pop on the other.
My biggest musical satisfaction ever happens: the Jeeg Killed AOR. Alessandro Guglieri (guitar) and Paolo Bottero (drums) are trying to create a band. In one shot only they find Davide Della Carità (vocalist), Diego Genta (keyboards) and me. The musical ad human feeling between us reached an incredible level and the result, I'm sure to speak also on behalf of the others, was absolutely above any exectations! 2 only live gigs, an incredible adrenaline flow for the 24 hours following the exibition in Conna (from my side), the live in Pompeiana, the death of Davide and the end of all. I did believe. Yes I did believe. I decide to increase study, I buy a further bass that I still hold as well, Yamaha TRB6P: fantastic!
I continue to study and I decide to start a course held by Massimo Palermo that opened my mind versus Jaco Pastorius (unachievable!). But the live activity is ending.
Some years late another relaunch with EtaMedia (Ce', Simona, Davide, Massy and Marco), cover band which we developed a 2 hours gig in a few months. Then I follow another course held by Maurizio Dedoni. I decide to stop all my music activities for a while.
Now, the spring is too much compressed in its box, the spring is opening the box. A new challenge, yes a new challenge. With who? I don't know yet but I do know when: after this summer!
Nato alla conclusione del XX secolo, ho sempre provato una forte passione nei confronti della musica.
A 9 anni esordisco come cantante in un recital sulla vita di Gesu' Cristo, mi viene dato l'onere di aprire come solista il recital. Voce decisamente bianca ma gia' le lodi sulla mia intonazione arrivano, fu una rivelazione anche per me. In questa fase devo ringraziare sentitamente i miei cari amici ed iniziali formatori musicali Franca Timo e Don Leonardo Botta.
Tuttavia, per un periodo non ho piu' continuato con l'attivita' canora, ma la passione musicale cresceva. Ho provato con scarsi successi la chitarra classica e le tastiere. Fino a quando non scoprii l'heavy metal. A 18 anni ricevo in prestito un basso elettrico col quale sviluppo nel giro di una notte i miei primi 3 brani metal: riesco a riprodurre The Trooper, Flight Of Icarus e Revelations degli Iron Maiden.
Decido che la mia strada musicale e' quella: il basso .
Mi faccio regalare immediatamente il mio primo vero strumento: Fender Jazz Bass Special del 1987. Cominciano le prime avventure musicali.
Un ulteriore salto di qualita' e' stato, per assurdo, il mio ultimo concerto col basso Fender: vengo contattato da un grandissimo chitarrista, Matteo "Yngwie" Salvi ed in una settimana prepariamo mezz'ora di apparizione durante una festa di paese. Ok, ci devo credere, ci devo provare!
Cambio strumentazione e mi butto su un pezzo pregiato: acquisto il mio primo grande ampli a 100W, un Trace Elliot con singolo cono da 15, ma soprattutto un Warwick Thumb Bass 5 corde che posseggo tuttora.
Inoltre, inizio a studiare esecutori molto diversi: Michael Manring, Pete Trewavas (Marillion) ma soprattutto Billy Sheehan e Stuart Hamm. Da questi ultimi due arriva la mia principale impostazione tecnica attuale, sebbene irraggiungibili mi hanno di molto allargato le vedute!
Inoltre, vedo proprio la possibilita' di farcela all'orizzonte.
Ritorno sulla musica sacra, sostenendo la nascita del Coro Polifonico di Finalmarina (sotto la direzione del maestro Paolo Gazzano). Proprio la conoscenza con Paolo mi permette di affrontare concerti vocali sacri in moltitudine, come tenore, basso e controtenore. Vengo inoltre utilizzato nel Coro Polifonico di Pietra Ligure e nei Li Musici Del Finale, successivamente co-dirigo il Coro di Finalmarina. Il mio impegno e' totale, da una parte la classica-sacra, dall'altra il rock-pop.
Arriva la mia piu' grande soddisfazione musicale: i Jeeg Killed AOR. Alessandro Guglieri (chitarra) e Paolo Bottero (batteria) stanno cercando di formare un gruppo. In un colpo solo trovano Davide Della Carità (vocalist), Diego Genta (tastiere) e me. L'alchimia musicale e personale che si forma tra noi 5 ha avuto dell'incredibile ed il risultato, sono sicuro di parlare anche a nome degli altri, è stato ampiamente al di sopra del previsto! 2 soli concerti, un'adrenalina indescrivibile per 24 ore dopo il concerto a Conna (per quanto mi riguarda), la serata a Pompeiana, la morte di Davide e di fatto la fine di tutte le aspirazioni. Ci credevo. Si, ci credevo. Decido di studiare di piu', acquisto un ulteriore basso che posseggo attualmente, uno Yamaha TRB6P: fantastico!
Continuo a studiare, mi iscrivo ad un corso gestito da Massimo Palermo, il quale mi apre la mente verso Jaco Pastorius (inavvicinabile!). Ma l'attivita' concertistica vera viene a sfumare.
Qualche anno dopo un rilancio con gli EtaMedia (Ce', Simona, Davide, Massy e Marco), gruppo cover col quale abbiamo sviluppato circa 2 ore di concerto in pochi mesi. Successivamente seguo un corso gestito da Maurizio Dedoni. Decido di chiudere temporaneamente tutte le avventure musicali.
Oggi, la molla e' troppo compressa nella sua scatola, la molla sta scoperchiando la scatola. Una nuova sfida, si una nuova sfida. Con chi? Non lo so ancora ma so quando: dopo l'estate!
