One Inch Men.... Heavy Grooverock from Tilburg

About Me

One Inch Men are five guys from Tilburg producing stoner-metal, they started out in 2002. Their main sources of inspiration are the groovy sounds and musical impact of bands like Kyuss and Karma to Burn. Hence the name of the band, ‘One Inch Men’, which has been inspired by the Kyuss’ song One Inch Man.Contrary to what one might expect from the band’s name, One Inch Men’s music has evolved into a mix of heavy stoner-rock mixed with an increasingly manifest metal edge. Their grooving riffs are interlaced with the sound of bands like Alice in Chains and Velvet Revolver. Impact guaranteed, live as well as in the studio! One Inch Men has built up a solid reputation as a live band. The band performed on stages like 013 (Tilburg), Willem 2 (Den Bosch), Dynamo (Eindhoven) and Popfront (Zwolle). Recent reviews on the 3voor12 Tilburg internetsite report that: ‘One Inch Men once more prove to be experts in the roughish field of stoner metal.’ (13-01-06) ‘One Inch Men. These pure rockers pushed off a solid wall of sound from the Batcave-stage. Their heavy stoner-rock is drenched in delightful leaden riffs, excellent solo’s and rough vocals. The songs are great and authentic.’ (23-06-05) As a result of such positive reviews the band has been able to perform on festivals like Elastiek (Hilvarenbeek) and the Emergenza Music Festival in 013, The Choice. Most recent victories are the band’s qualification for the finals of the Emergenza Music Festival where they ended up as the sixth best contender of the Benelux and got the price for the best drummer. One Inch Men also won the Elastiek Festival. Next year they will be opening at the festival where they will be performing on the Brabants Dagblad- stage.Besides their first, very successful, promotional CD ‘The Opinionated Prick’, One Inch Men has recently launched a second promotional CD entitled ‘RED’. This CD has been presented during the semi-finals of the Emergenza Music Festival band marathon. The first 1000 copies of this luxurious full-colour digipack are available for free during their live performances.
