Innersight was a melodic power metal band from the Netherlands, active between 2006 and 2008. Originally taken form under the name Overflow-Error in 2001, but the line up and the name of the band has changed since then. The band began with Bert Floren (guitar), Coen Floren (guitar), Vincent Verheijen (bass guitar) and Siem Bervoets (drums). They later on got joined by female singer Sarah Tuip. The band became quite succesful and highlight of their career was a final show on the mainstage at 013 in Tilburg.
After that show Vincent, and later on Siem, decided to quit. The remaining band members didn’t want to let go of the band so they began to search for new band members. There replacements weren’t far away. Daan Poncin, from the band Septfoil, became the new bass player of the new project of Bert, Coen and Sarah. A couple of months later they found Rik Bezem as their new drummer. They gave the project a new name, Innersight.
Innersight does not play the ordinary power metal everyone is familiar with. No neo-classical themes or lyrics about dragons and demons, but lyrics about more serious stuff. Besides all that they are female fronted. This giving an original twist to the music. A couple of songs from the Overflow-Error era are still being played, but the new ideas are pouring from the minds of the band members and the music is becoming more progressive and musicaly more interesting.
After playing quite a few shows the band was recording their debut EP, but unfortunately they decided to quit the band and focus on other projects. RIP.
