JP HOE BIO "Malleable pop" is the music JP Hoe writes. Described as, "a mixture of pop, rock, and alt-country" it has proved to be a favorable blend, appealing to a broad base of listeners. In Hoe's short career, he has managed to release two records; The Here In Review EP (2003), and The Live Beta Project (2007). Both have independently found their way on to commercial, campus, and web radio; the prior of the two discs being chosen by the CBC as one of five top albums released by Manitobans in 2004. The latter is closing in at 4000 units sold in one year, without distribution or a label behind him.Spring 2007 saw Hoe support Juno award winner Jann Arden across Canada and make an immediate impression to thousands of new found fans. Singer-songwriter at the root, Hoe has no problem recruiting his band (the Truly Richards) and pulling off a full blown rock show when needed. He’s been seduced by the open road; tirelessly playing targeted markets in the US (ie: NYC, Chicago, Austin), and showcasing at major music festivals in North America (NXNE '05 & '07, CMW, WCMA '05 & '06, MPMF). The self-made tours have added depth to this artist who has learned to mesh commerce and art, while pursuing a creative dream. Though they compare him to David Gray, Rufus Wainwright, and Martin Sexton, his voice, like theirs, gives him his identity and is the driving force behind audiences merrily humming away.
