From the Land of Pleasant Living - Brawltimore

About Me

The Perfect Poor is a straight up Rock N' Roll Band born in Baltimore Maryland. Whether you’re watching them on stage or listening to them driving down the highway at mach 10 with the windows down, this band guarantees a good time.
The Perfect Poor has found a common ground between the rugged American sounds of classic Southern Rock, Surf Rock, and even a hint of Punk. Imagine taking the hard edge from Motorhead, throwing in the American tale of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the fun in the sun of Steve Miller, the honky tonk of the Drive By Truckers and the Black Crowes, the commanding swing of Elvis and put it all in a blender and the result will be a nice tall serving of The Perfect Poor.
Instead of focusing on the dregs of our culture, The Perfect Poor uses dirty but lovable melodies with catchy hooks that are built and performed from the soul. Lead singer Nick Albrecht explains, “The purpose of each performance is to bring the crowd, whom we know had a long week at work just like us, up on stage with us. Let them kick back and sing along, have a few cold ones and smile. Let’em know life is good.”
The Perfect Poor following generally consists of Poor Heads. The ladies in particular have dubbed themselves Lot Lizards after one of the bands favorite original tunes. Their shows kick ass, I never get tired of listening to them! exclaimed one pleased lot lizard.

The Perfect Poor's debut CD "The Devil Made Me Who I Am" is now available online and in select stores!!

Nick Albrecht, lead singer and rhythm guitarist, loves to play his fat hollow body and hails from Bel Air, Maryland. In lieu of manual labor, Nick would prefer to spend the afternoon with a crisp can of cheap beer any day of the week. While the entire band is intimately involved with song composition, Nick lays the foundation for most of the bands music. It is not uncommon for Nick to slip away for a week to the outer banks of North Carolina and return with a renewed inspiration and a cavalcade of new material. He writes songs simply because they sound good to him. When he wants to he can incorporate a soothing voice that can be likened to James Taylor, but at the flip of a switch can punch in to double overdrive.

Darren Saxton , bass player, is originally from California, and can be bribed into just about anything with a bottle of smooth scotch. Saxton remarks A fine scotch is like a loyal dog, smooth when shaved and hates to be watered down. His bass lines reflect his love for fine liquor, swirling around but always finding a familiar pattern with which to synchronize your foot. Darren has had considerable experience playing with and recording numerous bands which have fine tuned his ear to pick out comfortable baselines that you can really sync your foot into.

S-Hickey , Drums. Nestled deep in Pasadena Maryland, the Hickster would be sitting in his bedroom wasting away with a piano if it were'nt for The Perfect Poor. But an opening for the 2007 House on Wheels Tour came along, and a chance at the open road sounded too good to pass up. Mostly known for guitar and piano work with The Luinissinfes, the Hickster took on a new instrument specifically for The Perfect Poor, pissing off his neighbors till the late nights.

Influences: Elvis, Dick Dale, Country, Metal, Punk, Southern Rock and Rockabilly.
Sounds Like: Straight up rock 'n' roll with a good 'ol southern edge.
Record Label: workin' on it!!!
Type of Label: Major
