FEATURED TALENT
Carmine Appice's SLAMM!!
SLAMM!! is a drum act with guitar, keys and comedy similar to Blue Man Group and STOMP.
Carmine Appice is one of the more well-travelled and versatile rock drummers of the second half of the 20th century. Also referred to as "the world's greatest drummer". Appice first came to prominence as the flamboyant percussionist with the late 1960s psychedelic foursome Vanilla Fudge.
Rod Stewart's backing band, and played drums on (and co-wrote) such Stewart hits as "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Young Turks." Carmine has recorded with Stanley Clarke, Ted Nugent, and Pink Floyd. He has also played in the bands King Kobra and Blue Murder. Although he did not play on the Ozzy Osbourne album Bark at the Moon, he appeared in the music video for the title track and played on part of the tour.
(He) "set the foundation for heavy drumming ... before Bonham, before Ian Paice... before anyone else." —Rick Van Horn, 1999 Modern Drummer magazine.
Appice's drum instruction book The Realistic Rock Drum Method was first published in the 1970s. The book covers the classic information of basic rock rhythms and polyrhythms, linear rudiments and groupings, hi-hat and double bass drum exercises, and shuffle rhythms. It has sold more than 300,000 copies and is among the best selling drum books today.

THE ROYS - Nashville
The highest charting duo of 2007 on Music Row Chart!
And while new country duo The Roys are turning heads with their Pedestal/Nine North debut, those bolt-from-the-blue reactions are the product of a hard-earned education and a lifetime of musical devotion.
Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to French-Canadian parents, Elaine and Lee showed an early affinity for music, a natural pull that only intensified when the family moved to New Brunswick, Canada. While Elaine took guitar lessons, Lee taught himself to play drums on barrels and buckets, eventually adding bass, guitar, mandolin and keys to his repertoire. The family eventually moved back to Fitchburg, forcing Lee to give up the bluegrass band he'd formed.
Without their musical support system, the siblings turned to each other, forming a virtual four-piece with a drum machine and bass tracks.
INDUSTRY QUOTES -
From Robert K. Oermann/Music Row Magazine (Second Fiddle CRS performance): "After some more schmoozing, the brother-sister team The Roys provided the event’s finale. Elaine’s lilting hillbilly soprano and Lee’s hearty country-boy tenor were flawless in both lead and harmony passages. “Workin’ Girl Blues†kicked butt, and “Grandpa’s Barn†tugged heartstrings. The result was the strongest set ever performed at this six-year-old Music Row tradition."
It's A Country Thang!!!/Chuck Dauphin, Music City News
if I were a betting man.....here are ten acts that I would place money on to have a great 2008
...in alphabetical order..... 7. The Roys / They made quite the impact with "Workin' Girl Blues"
with radio, but I have a feeling that their new single "Grandpa's Barn" will lift their profile a few notches!
DONNY ANDERSON - Lindsay, Ontario
Although just now an adult himself, 23-year-old Donny Anderson has been expressing himself through his mature and experienced voice since the age of 13. Possessing the soulful understanding of someone beyond his years but still capturing the innocence of youth in his music, Donny has that rare ability of transcending genres and styles. "I like to include both my personal encounters with life as well as stories I have learned from others into my songs," Donny says. "It allows me to relate to teenagers and grandparents alike. It's that universal language of music that is so beautiful to me."
Born in Lindsay, a small town in Ontario, Canada, Donny discovered his incredible talent while singing a duet with his friend in seventh grade. From that moment on, Donny embarked on a journey that would take him all over Canada and eventually the United States. Before even graduating from high school, Donny was opening for such notable acts as Terri Clark, Doc Walker, Lila McCann, Little Big Town and many others, playing venues like Phoenix Concert Hall, the Civic Centre in Ottawa and CNE in Toronto. With his first demo in hand, he earned spots on the Canadian Showcase in Nashville, Tennessee during the CMA Music Festival (formerly known as Fan Fair), as well as the Havelock Jamboree in Canada. He began performing anywhere from three to five shows a week, his life consisting of traveling, writing, singing and performing.
Now an established singer and songwriter, Donny has seen his music receive considerable airplay overseas including markets in Australia and Holland. With some time spent back in the Nashville, and landing a major management contract with James Lucente and Lucki Entertainment, his main concentration now involves recording and writing some current demos with hit songwriter Gilles Godard, Grammy and Dove award winning producer Joe Hogue and multi-platinum engineer and producer Michael Hanson as well as many other music veterans who recognize his extraordinary ability.
His ability to transcend makes him approachable. His warm personality and smile make him endearing. But as Donny continues to write, record and perform live, it will be his singing and music that make him a star. His many influences will always be fuel for his inspiration, but his voice, that soulful powerhouse that shakes listeners to their core during impossibly perfect notes, will prove long lasting.
MATT WALKER - Nashville, TN
Matt Walker was raised in a small town in West Virginia in an area known for producing some of country music’s top singers, songwriters and musicians.
Like many successful country singers, Matt learned to sing in church and by the age of ten he was singing alongside his dad in his family’s traveling gospel quartet. By the mid-90s Matt was writing lyrics and performing with a variety of different bands throughout southern West Virginia.
In 2000, he formed his own group called “The County Line Band.†Matt played the club circuit performing both cover songs and original material and picked up a large number of loyal fans.
In 2001 he was offered the opportunity to record a song to be put on an album for the “Make A Wish†Foundation. He chose to record an original song he wrote called “Daddy Did His Best†a song he had written about his father. The album was titled “The Best Of West Virginia.†It was the beginning of a successful year. He was invited to Branson, Missouri where he performed at a talent showcase and he advanced to Nashville as a finalist.
In 2002 Matt returned to Nashville, Tennessee to record his first album titled “It’s Just Me and You.†The album consisted of eight songs - seven written by Matt himself. The album was recorded at the Moonlight Recording Studio and produced by former West Virginia native Dick McVey. While making the club rounds during the summer of 2003, Matt and “The County Line Band†were offered the opportunity to open a show for the “Kentucky Headhunters†at the Nicholas County Fair, in Summersville West Virginia. They repeated that performance in 2004 opening for “Confederate Railroad.â€
Matt recorded his second album in late 2004 with Dick McVey at Moonlight Recording Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. This album consisted of seven self-penned songs and one instrumental. The title cut from the album “Long Vacation†was released as a single and received extensive airplay in his home state in early 2005.
In the spring of 2005, Matt made a permanent move to Nashville where he began performing and pitching his songs to major acts. So far he has been successful in getting material to artists such as Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Travis Tritt, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, and many others.
Although Matt became a resident of Music City, he is still a popular attraction at clubs and events in West Virginia and returns there occasionally to perform with his band. In late 2005, he opened a show there for the Bellamy Brothers where he received a standing ovation for his original songs.
In 2006, Matt began writing and recording his third album titled “Living Life My Way,†that was released in late summer. All 10 songs were written by Matt who also showed his expertise as a musician playing every instrument on the project.
Matt’s goal for 2008 is to take his band on the road playing clubs, casinos, fairs and festivals all across the United States. While on the road he will continue to write and when he is in Nashville he will record and pitch his songs to other artists.
He is now represented by Chris Keaton, a noted Nashville song plugger who has been successful in getting songs recorded by Lonestar and other acts. Chris is confident you will soon be hearing Matt’s songs on radio stations all across the country. Matt is also being represented by Dick McVey who is handling promotion, publicity and management consulting for Matt. If the progress made over the past year and a half is any indication, it would be likely that Matt is well on his way to great success in 2008.
