Im a singer/songwriter from NC. I have played in bands, done studio work and written songs since age 13. Was in my first band at age 15, earned radio time. That was the band Common Desire with Padamonium Records. The Lonely Hearts was next, we were an acoustic trio. By age 21 I teamed up with Micheal Neathery(former bass player for Disturbance out of LA) We formed Marquis. It was a cover duo designed for cruise ships and other money makers.I wanted to get back to the original thing so I started co writing with Leslie Weaver in 98 and we formed Complicated Girl. We were chosen to play for the World Special Olympics that yr. and played a second day just for the Olympians. We also did a set on Diva's Night out aired on PBS. I formed Chalybeate (KA-LIB-IT) in 2000 and put out the Cd "Dreaming out loud" With the popular song Kiss The Rain. In 2002 I put out a cd intitled Acoustically yours. Thats pretty much what it was...acoustic. In 2000, local guitarist, Mark Duncan and I formed a Fleetwood Mac tribute band called "The Chain".I... of course was Mick....;-) just kiddin! My band, the MJB, opened for The Chain. The funny thing is, it was the same band just in costume! In 2003 Guitarist, Damien Benz and I formed Monika Jaymes and The Blue Lights, I was also doing acoustic shows and private parties. We performed private parties all the way to Marthas Vinyard in 2005. Now the band is called The Monika Jaymes Band or MJB. WE just released our first full 11 song cd intitled There You Are. A new version of Kiss the rain is on the cd, as well as some newer tunes. Other than that , Im co owner of a painting buisness.www.myspace.com/themonikajaymesband www.monikajaymes.comThe MJB
