Saratoga Faire

About Me

The band got its start at the Dance Flurry Festival in Saratoga Springs. The idea for the band was to incorporate a lot of different kinds of acoustic-based music and styles. But we are increasingly receiving calls to play Irish venues and festivals and have enlarged our repertoire in that area.Featured instruments include hammered dulcimer, violin, viola, guitars and bass. Most of our band members are multi-instrumentalists, so don’t be surprised to hear percussion, whistles, recorders, accordion, cello and harp, especially on recordings. Our band took its name for the city where we all met plus its influence of the band Fairport Convention and the Faire where we find some of our “old song” material. For more information on our individual performers and our concerts, click here to visit our website.

My Blog

World Made By Hand & local musicians

The Spirites Consort

Yes, 3 of us belong to The Spirites Consort. We now use the hammered dulcimer in that band too.
