Musically Chief Enablers reference the late 80's San Franciscan 'Thrash Funk' movement, as several band members had been in and around that scene. The band has progressed over time, refining an eclectic sound. The band somtimes is compared to Oingo Boingo, Counting Crows or Talking Heads, but that all really depends on the mood of the moment.
