The Cherry Bar space, located at 917 Folsom Street in San Francisco, has deep rock and roll roots. Once the legendary Covered Wagon Saloon, Cherry Bar has returned to a live music format with some dance nights on the weekends. We book mostly local bands. The club has three rooms. The bar area, the dance/performance area and a smoking room in the back. We have a green room for the bands and 14 beers on tap to get ya ready for your set. We're fully set up with a complete (and upgraded) PA system. No need to bring anything but your amps. Community speakers, monitor speakers on stage, stage, lighting, a Allen and Heath mixer and Boom, the sound guy people can't stop talking about (not sure if that's a good thing or not but we love him). This is a general overview of what we are trying to book, but nothing is set in stone.Sunday: country, rockabilly, alt country, blue grass.
Monday: Touring bands, matched with some upcoming local bands. No particular genre. Band driven.
Tuesday: punk and Metal.
Wednesday: Rock, pop rock, hardcore, some harder alt rock.
Thursday: Indie Rock, pop rock, power pop, melodic rock, some alt rock. Occasional country nights.
Friday showcases headlining bands, mostly indie bands, and is also home to DECADE, with New Wave City promoter Skip, and REFLEXX, with 80's DJ's John and Low LIfe.Saturdays featuresLEISURE, hosted by Aron Axelson of Live 105 and Omar of Fake, who rock every fourth Saturday with their mad blend of Manchester and Brit Pop. BOOTIE, hosted by Live 105's Party Ben, Adrian and Mysterious D, is a mash up legend. We also book bands on some Saturdays but the night decides the format.Cherry Bar has just received a facelift. It's walls are striped, in the front room with a long lingering bar. The dance room is nice sized and the stage is great. Our bartenders rock and our security guards have no attitude. The Cherry Bar is about rock and roll, dance, drinks and having a good time out.If you are a band looking for gigs, give us a shout out here or at
[email protected] note, bands that play Cherry Bar should not play another SF gig within two weeks. But if you want to play our venue, we will find a spot for ya.So, leave your attitude at the door and suck up a pint at the bar while you listen to some of the best bands and DJ's in the city.
