About Me

were not really a band anymore. alex lives in oakland. jono lives in sacramento. mitch and dallas are still in chico finishing school and proly drinking all your beer. thanks for coming to shows. thanks for buying t-shirts. thanks for not forgetting about us and how special it was while it lasted."Let us not waste our time in idle discourse. Let us do something, while we have the chance. It is not every day that we are needed...but at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late..." -Samual Beckettthis is our super rad banner. the code is below if you feel so inclined to copy/paste it anywhere and everywhere! thanks

LIVE REVIEWS:

"Idle Discourse turned out to be not so idle. The three guys up front flopped their hair everywhere as they thrashed about like disgruntled marionettes..." -Bill Kelvin, THE BUZZ-

**marionette: A jointed puppet manipulated from above by strings or wires attached to its limbs...

"Idle Discourse was the other set that I enjoyed. The music of this four-piece featured melodic, slow ideas contrasted later with fast guitar strumming and intense vocals." -Karen Sowa, SYNTHESIS-

"The band of Chico State students began its first song with a burst of energy, dancing all over the stage and ended with a long, impressive instrumental solo. A crowd of about 30 started to form around the stage, moving with the music. Flashes complemented the energetic music as fans in front snapped digital pictures on cameras and cell phones...The band ended its set on a high note with what Carabba called its "own version of rock 'n' roll." -Kirsten Saladow, THE ORION-

"I arrived early in the Idle Discourse set to hear circling guitar licks that rose and broke to passionate vocals by lead man, Jono. I was taken by the emotion this darkish music offered. Both vulnerable and acrid. The combination of cascading guitar loops and solid rhythm on the drums carried the tempo and style changes seamlessly." -Spencer K. Rouse (The Night Owl), THE BUZZ-

"Idle Discourse opened the show to a large mob of local fans, and started their set off on a high note. Noticeably thrilled as they jumped into their first song, the band exhibited an astounding charisma that fused well with the atmosphere before the rest of the audience arrived. Idle Discourse demonstrated a progressive post-punk style that was indicative of the local music scene. In between songs, lead vocalist Jono Carabba expressed many thanks for the opportunity to perform. The rest of the band, including Alex Woods (guitar), Dallas Oliver (bass), and Mitch Beddoe (drums), all put on a memorable show while they rocked the stage with a reckless ferocity that permeated the audience. -Aaron Bloom, SYNTHESIS-
