Punk Rock (with a conscience)
Formerly from Bunbury these lads have been tearing up stages all over Perth over the past 12 months. 2007 saw them release their debut ep "Everything For nothing". They played Hyper-fest mid year and are set to support Frenzal Rhomb in December. February next year they head off on their debut national tour taking in SA, VIC & NSW.
The Decline
Punk Rock
The Decline boys are currently wraping up TEE studies and are itching to make 2008 a year of focus.
This year they played alongside a number of interstate acts are absolutely stoked to be supporting Frenzal Rhomb at Amplifier Bar in December.
Allostene
Hard Rock
Since hiting the Perth music scene in mid-2007, Allostene have performed almost weekly throughout Perth and WA alongside such great acts as: Mink Mussel Creek, Battlecat, Calerway, Disclaimer, Secret Kingdom, Lucy's Revenge, The Amity Affliction and We Are The emergency (to name just an excellent few.) Allostene are about to head back into the studio to record their debut EP to be released in early 2008.
Beneath This Earth
Metal
Influenced by the likes of Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen, Lamb Of God & Job For A Cowboy, Beneath This Earth have managed to build up a strong underage following in Perth. As the boys turn 18 in 2008 they will be playing a lot more 18+ shows. Currently recording their debut EP these boys are definately worth keeping an eye out for.
Christinarose
Alternative / Pop
Forming in May of 2007 Busselton Band Christina Rose is strongly influenced by such acts as Saosin, Fall Out Boy, Refused, Amberlin and local boys Elora Danan. The band has a musical style that is strong, incredibly catchy and fresh. Christina Rose are currently recording their initial demo.
Sixgun
Punk Rock / Punkabilly
Originally hailing from Albany Sixgun’s influences are broad and include such artists as The Clash, Gang of Four, Rancid, Midnight Oil, The Cure, Mars Volta and Bad Religion to name just a few. The result is a complex mix of punk, rock and progressive elements. Sixgun’s live show is an eye popper with the band drawing on their love of half hate-filled half joking social commentary, a love of comedy and theatrics to create a show in which nothing is set in stone apart from the crowd reaction.
From Deep Within
Progressive Rock
I always find it are to decribe From Deep Within. So I will let their influences try to do it for us. They include A Fire Inside, Dream Theater, Propagandhi, Incubus, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band formed several years ago at high school and has only recently come out of the jam rooms and onto the stage. Bands who have shared the stage with them have been awestruck. They will be taking a bit of a break over xmas but kicking into 2008 with an intense focus and some significant goals.
Atvena's Wake
Metal
Atvena's Wake came together in early 2006. Since then the band has progressed and matured, and are quickly earning increasing respect in the Western Australian Hardcore/Metal music scene for their energetic live performances, catchy riffs and melodic passages. With a crushing Self-Titled 3-track demo behind them, and a promising EP to be released in the near future the future looks grand for Atvena's Wake, so keep you're ears to the ground!
Belial
Death Metal
Quite possibly Perth's most under-rated death metal act Belail have toured the USA and are already attracting interest from a number of overseas music labels. 2008 will be a big year for the boys with another tour in the initiall planning stages and a recording expected later in the year.
Taken By Chance (SA)
Pop Punk
Our first Non-Western Australian band Taken By Chance can quite simply be described as talented and funny as hell. Heading across to Perth for a quick show in December the lads are due to hit the recording studio in early 2008 for their debut EP.
Bat Country
Experimental/Instrumental/Funk/Rock
I'm not going to say too much yet. Except to say... If you love music you will seriously be blown away by these guys. More to come....
