We are Hip fans. Just a couple of voices in the vast legion of the devoted.Without a doubt, there are many good bands, and there are some excellent bands up here North of 49th...but we feel an especially close 'kinship' with the quintessential voice of the North...The Hip.Everytime we've seen them, no matter where or when, they put it out on the line. We love them.

Check out the The Hip's very own, "The Kingston Tragically Hip Midget AA Ice Wolves"!

My Interests

The Spirit of '72 lives on...

Thanks for your interest in our "Spirit of '72" jersey. Based on our love for The Hip, good ol' hockey, and "Fireworks", we built an authentic, game-quality hockey jersey that reflects all that we Hip fans hold dear!!! And we gotta pretty good hunch, Gordie and The Boys, are big hockey fans...at least that's what they told us!

Actually, I wanted to buy a Hip jersey at one of the many concert dates we've made this tour...but firstly, they didnt have any decent selection of sizes, additionally, we werent very happy with the quality of the product (a lot of concert souvenirs are contracted out "offshore", not necessarily by the band, but by marketers). Being avid hockey fans and having played pond hockey as a kid, if youre gonna wear a jersey, MAKE IT BOMB-PROOF, like the pros...or dont wear it at all. 'Cheap' doesnt look good on anyone.

We didnt design and produce the "Spirit of '72" jersey for commercial purposes at all. We just wanted to get noticed by The Hip and avid fans while at concerts...and boy, did we ever cause interest! Everybody loves them! What we didnt anticipate was the number of Tragic Little Fans who wanted their very own "Spirit of '72" jersey!!!

So with all that said, here's what a "Spirit of '72" jersey is:

-Game-weight replica hockey jersey, Team Canada 2002 colours Blk/Red/Wht, heavy weight air-knit synthetic with reinforced elbows

-Crests, numbers, and lettering are all made of "Pro-Twill" material, heat sealed and sewed on, identical as on professional hockey jerseys

See our photo section for more details...

A very limited number of the authentic rendition of our "Spirit of '72" jersey may become available in the near future.

There are only the original three (3) jerseys with the authentic autographs of the band members of The Tragically Hip. Two of these jerseys are spoken for (my wife and I), and one (1) jersey is available...

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED OR NEED MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE "SPIRIT OF '72" JERSEY, PLEASE CONTACT US...

PLEASE NOTE...The "Spirit of '72" Jersey, a tribute to The Tragically Hip and Canadian hockey, is NOT officially approved or endorsed by The Tragically Hip and their organization; Canadian politician, lawyer, businessman, author and retired National Hockey League goaltender and Hockey Hall of Famer Ken Dryden; retired Canadian professional ice hockey player, Hockey Hall of Famer and former general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers Bobby Clarke and Hockey Canada.

"If theres a goal that everyone remembers, it was back in 72 / We all squeezed the stick and we all pulled the trigger and all I remember is sitting beside you / You said you didnt give a fuck about hockey and I never saw someone say that before/ You held my hand and we walked home the long way/ You were loosening my grip on Bobby Orr..."

Not a huge fan of the monarchy, but hey, when she's in town and it's a great PR gig, be Canadian...

Hans Blix -Former UN Chief Weapons Inspector
In 2003, UN chief weapons inspector Hans Blix departed from diplomatic language during a frank interview with the Guardian newspaper, from his 31st floor office at the UN in New York, saying: "I have my detractors in Washington. There are bastards who spread things around, of course, who planted nasty things in the media. Not that I cared very much..."By and large my relations with the US were good," he said. "But towards the end the [Bush] administration leaned on us...there are people in this administration who say they don't care if the UN sinks under the East river, and other crude things."
I salute and support our Team Canada (Men's and Women's, Senior and Junior, each and every year!)...
Remember '72
Phil Esposito said in Vancouver, way back in '72, "...for the people across Canada, we tried, and ahhh, we tried and gave it our best. For the people who booed us, all of us guys are really dishearted and disillusioned ...and were disappointed in some of the people...the booing we got in our buildings...I mean every one of us guys, 35 guys, we come out and played for Team Canada, we came because we love our country and not for any other reason, not any other reason...we came because we love Canada..."
...remember 2002
