What does she sound like? Sort of like ....um, Lucinda Williams got religion and stopped drinkin' and smokin'. Or , Julie Andrews lost religion and started drinking and smoking. Take yer pick. Christine is a songwriter of depth and elegance with a knack for lyric and melody. The artful CD cover photo for ‘In Her Mind’ was shot on the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario in her beloved hometown of Kingston, Ontario, to which she pays homage in her song ‘Stones of Old Kingston.’ The song is performed simply on piano and harmonica, and the essence of Christine is found there in her emotive and unique voice. Donovan writes and sings about a day, a time, a story, a life unlike any other artist. She lifts you from the ordinary into the extraordinary - moments that are transformed from her thoughts into her poems and songs.... ‘In Her Mind.’ The sound and lyrics of Christine Donovan’s music are a delight to anyone, even those having the lowest of days. Donovan finds the ideas for her poems and lyrics from everyday life; sometimes even dreams. For example, her song “Red Roses in the Snow” was inspired by a dream. Often dreams are the subconscious mind acting out observations which Donovan admits are the inspirations for some of her finest songs. Today her goals are to perform for audiences throughout the world as she possesses a wonderful voice enhanced with a grand stage presence. Yet, Donovan’s greatest dream is to acquire a contract as a songwriter as wants her to see her lyrics live on for generations to come.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: christinedonovan.com
Band Members: SOLO Act - PIANO sometimes GUITAR....and sometimes I will use some extra musicians for back up....depends on the need. What do you need? What do you want? i thrive on writing my own songs and any song I sing will be a "christine song" because I need to do my own interpretation. Okay.....now the TRUTH....I have no fucking idea why I do this...its hard, difficult and probably childbirth was a cinch compared to selling your own music on myspace. However......! Let me make it PERFECTLY CLEAR...I started this and so I am gonna finish it....so I'll keep makin' music, puttin it out there until I finally kick the bucket! I figure that eventually once I'm 99 I can use that gimmick and my career will EXPLODE!!!!! Imagine the headlines....'CENTURY OLD WOMAN STILL WAITING FOR RECORDING CONTRACT.....and then,....."ARISTA RECORDS RESPONDS BY OFFERING CENTURY OLD WOMAN AKA "DEAR OLD PRUNE"....RECORD DEAL...FIRST TIME EVER!"
