Christine is a songwriter of depth and elegance with a knack for lyric and melody. The artful CD cover photo for ‘In Her Mind’ was shot on the shores of beautiful Lake Ontario in her beloved hometown of Kingston, Ontario, to which she pays homage in her song ‘Stones of Old Kingston.’ The song is performed simply on piano and harmonica, and the essence of Christine is found there in her emotive and unique voice. Donovan writes and sings about a day, a time, a story, a life unlike any other artist. Donovan finds the ideas for her poems and lyrics from everyday life; sometimes even dreams. For example, her song “Red Roses in the Snow†was inspired by a dream. Often dreams are the subconscious mind acting out observations which Donovan admits are the inspirations for some of her finest songs.
Today her goals are to perform for audiences throughout the world as she possesses a wonderful voice enhanced with a grand stage presence. Yet, Donovan’s greatest dream is to acquire a contract as a songwriter as wants her to see her lyrics live on for generations to come.
