About Me

Bernie Grant Arts Centre is a home for aspiring, emerging and established black and culturally diverse creative practitioners, audiences and participants. Opening September 2007, we are a hothouse that will develop creative talent and promote innovative, challenging and accessible opportunities to see new work and make new work.The centre is inspired by the vision and dedication of the late Bernie Grant MP who imagined a space with a national reputation for quality and innovation, and one that is rooted in Tottenham, London, one of the UK’s most multicultural areas.Designed by award winning architect David Adjaye, the Bernie Grant Arts Centre is the latest addition to London’s cultural arts scene. Our purpose built multi-arts centre 340 seat space, 70 seat studio/rehearsal space, café, workspaces and open spaces will become a home for interdisciplinary arts, spoken word, dance, theatre, courses, master classes and much more. Bernie Grant Arts Centre will be a place of nurturing, inspiration, stimulation and challenge."An exciting time for the local community, black arts in the UK and the wider artistic world" New Nation.
