About Me

The UK Music scene has been short of a truly great soul voice for a considerable while. Brian Temba, star of the West End Musical The Lion King, possesses the voice that will bring hope to those who would truly appreciate a real soul singer. Brians voice portrays a depth of realness, and passion that captures the authentic sound of Soul Music.
BRIAN “TEMBA” MAKIWANE is the name behind one of the most exciting voices to come out of the UK Music Scene for a while. Born and raised in South Africa, Brian started out his singing career in South Africa singing for the likes of Jonathan Butler and Hugh Masakela. In 1999 Brian was given the golden opportunity to perform as a solo artist for Nelson Mandela at his 80th birthday celebration.
Brian decided to pursue his musical dream by accepting an offer to sing as part of the ensemble for Disney’s stage version of The Lion King at The Pantages Theatre on the Los Angeles Broadway. His decision proved to be the correct one as it led to Brian being offered to play the lead part of Simba at The Lyceum Theatre in London’s West End from 2003 until April 2008.
In late 2004 Brian met with former Blacksmith Producer/Remixer Steve Antony and Steve offered to produce Brian’s debut album. With that album now completed and scheduled for release early 2008 the pair have now started work on Brian’s second album.
Brian Temba will be the name to look out for and the voice that will re-define the UKs Music scene.
