Born in south london, balham, grew up in east london, Isle of dogs. Inspired to become an actor at the age of 14 after watching Eddie Murphy in 'Beverly Hills Cop', i had a mad healthy focus at the age of 14 for Drama and becoming an actor ...
it was spotted by my then drama teacher and english teacher who got their departments to pay for me to go to a theatre school on weekends for a year (Sylvia Young Theatre School) and helped me get into a college (Seltec college which is now known as lewisham college) studying drama for 2 years, i learnt alot thier - stanislavski, brecht, willy shakespear etc and got hooked on 'The Method'... i decided i wanted to further my education in acting so at the end of the course i applied to loads of drama schools and got auditions to RADA, LAMDA, Central school of speech and drama, and Drama Centre but couldn't get a grant so i cancelled the auditoins (that was the year when the goverment decided to make it really hard to get grants for education)... a year passed...
a friend who was at the college studying drama introduced me to his then agent who took me on board at the age of 21 and i started to work as an actor! my first job was with 'The Black Theatre Co-op' doing 'Theatre In Education' with a play called "just for kicks" about drug awareness which toured schools in the london boroughs.
My first big TV was 'Holding On' (were i played one of the main characters) a BBC2 drama series about life in the Big City-London, which won a BAFTA for best drama serial. Since then i've worked on various productions in TV,Film, Theatre, and was awarded the Barclay Card Theatre Award (TMA) for 'best actor in a supporting role'.
