Aggro is what they call him and he has built himself a studio where he creates beats for MCs, singers and songwriters. He also makes Grime music for MCs and Hip-Hop/RnB tracks for rappers and singers.
After working with a host of UK talent, Aggro, from Balham South London, started to become inspired by the lyrics and flows of the rappers he was working with and two years ago picked up the mic for himself.
Having performed at big venues such as The Works (Kingston), Sound (Leicester Square), Bar Rhumba(L,S), Skala(Kings Cross) + many more venues across the U.K including a succesful tour of the Midlands, has widely expanded his fanbase.
His debut single was entitled "Free Yard", a tongue in cheek song about exploiting the empty house your parents have left behind whilst on holiday. Not many can say they made it on MTV Base with their first video but Aggro can. The Video for "Free Yard" entered the Channel U chart at an impressive number 5, climbing to Number 1 in its third week. Being number 1 many times and remaining in the top 3 for over three months highlights the success of this single. The single "Free Yard" is taken from his forthcoming CD "Aggro-Culture Vol.1". "Aggro-Culture" features among others, Samba influences - a musical genre not usually associated with Grime. Because of his Brazilian heritage Aggro names Samba as one of his main influences for producing beats. This talented teenager also plays the keyboards, drums and guitar on all his productions, and all before 18.
The CD jostles with views on life, girls, playa hating, safe sex etc, in fact Aggro touches on subjects more mature then expected from his 18 years. Unlike a lot of rapper/producers, Aggro can actually MC and his lyrics are very cleverly put together. "Aggro-Culture Vol.1" is finished and due to drop in the record stores at the end of summer and will also feature another 2 more promoted singles also accompanied by videos.
It seems that a lot of the talent emerging from the streets are now doing it for themselves and have stopped thinking they need a record label to release the music. Aggro is no exception and intends to build on his reputation and fame by releasing product and merchandise through his new website that is currently being designed and built.
As usual, watch this space Aggro is definitely one to keep your eye on.
