I love to read, but I've slowed down a bit. I love good humorists... Al Frankin, Woody Allen, David Sedaris, Molly Ivins, Groucho Marx.... "The Onion" is amazing.
Of course, I love live concerts. Local bands in particular.
I've been going crazy with my itunes lately. That's become my new mania. I am a horribly disorganized person who loves to organize. This means that while my office is all a-shambles, my music collections is getting better archived everyday. I'm up to 56,000 songs and counting. As soon as I finish archiving my CDs (I figure I'll be at about 70,000 songs by then) I'll start transferring my Vinyl, Tape and Video over to digital. I already have 1000s & 1000s of band pix and lp covers in my database. Soon, I'll get all of my old show posters scanned in. Wooo-hoooo!
I love eating new foods whenever possible... although I also tend to order the same food over and over... It almost seems compulsive. I never give up on a dish, even if I hate it. I hated sushi all my life, but each time someone ordered sushi, I'd ask to try it. And I don't know what the hell happened, but all of the sudden, I love sushi. Can't get enough.
I love the idea of traveling, but sadly, I've never really been anywhere.
People who make me laugh.
I like most everything. I had a ridiculously long list here at one point. But it still didn't do the trick. My big five would be: Franks Sinatra, Hank Williams Sr., Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and the Clash. I'm in love with so many Sacramento area bands. I'm afraid to name any for fear of excluding someone accidentally... but my faves of the moment are The Groovie Ghoules, Agent Ribbons, Didley Squat, Cake, Pets, Golden Shoulders... and if I left you off you were probably the next band I was gonna name... no really...
I can never keep up with my ever changing list of new films I love. So I'll just throw out a few of my "comfort" movies (though some are a tad uncomfortable) Mary Poppins, LA Confindential, Babe (yes the pig film), Fight Club, Citizen Kane, Broadway Danny Rose, Singing In The Rain, The Graduate, Groundhog's Day, the Godfather & II.... good enough....
I am an unapologetic TV Junkie. Must Consume Pop Culture!!!
Oooohhhh, and I've succumbed to DVDs of TV shows....
Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Arrested Development, Simpsons, Sopranos, 24, Futurama, Mr Show, Tenacious D, South Park....
TV is so good right now! Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Shield, Lost, 30 Rock, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report(!!!), The Office, My Name Is Earl, Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, Scrubs, Medium, ...and oh, oh, oh..... my fave... Veronica Mars (OH NO! It's been cancelled!).
Of course, I'm still a sucker for the old shows, too... Twin Peaks, X-Files, Seinfeld, The Andy Griffith Show, Dick Van Dyke, and the horribly under-appreciated GREEN ACRES
Everybody should read: The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, The Great Unraveling, Fast Food Nation, Toxic Sludge is Good For You, Bushwhacked, THE NATION, THE ONION, and The Hightower Report, oh.... and Alive & Kicking.
I try to read everything I can by Kurt Vonnegut, Phillip K Dick, Al Franken, Woody Allen, Michael Moore, Molly Ivens, Paul Krugman, Doris Kearns Goodwin, David Sedaris, Stephen Jay Gould, Gore Vidal....
The selfless. The fighters of the good fights. And those who persevere the bullshit.
