The Deadthings

Australias No.1 Glam Band

About Me

"Having pursued a relentless touring schedule over the past couple of years, including recent US support slots with Pretty Boy Floyd and LA Guns, The Deadthings have now turned their stage show into a craft. They are the unrivalled masters of what they do. No longer the new kids on the block… The Deadthings have well and truly entrenched themselves as Australia's No.1 glam metal band!" - www.glitzine.net

The Deadthings are a hard rock band based in Melbourne, Australia that draws influence from their idols such as Kiss, Ratt, Judas Priest, Kix, Dokken, Poison, Warrant and Black N Blue. The Deadthings then craft their own dark and grim tales of sleaze and heartbreak in their own unique melodic morbid way. .........Formed by Rhythm Guitarist Leigh Van Hell (Ex- Voodoo Lovecats) and Vocalist Julez Mephisto and completed with Nikk Murder on Drums (Ex Flesh Hounds/ Boy Dot Com), Dave Scythe on Lead Guitar and Trixxi Trash on Bass.In October 2002 The Deadthings erupted onto the Australian Club circuit immediatly gaining attention for their over the top image, anthemic catchy songs and energetic live shows. In 2004 The Deadthings released their debut EP “When Hell Sleazes Over“ to critical acclaim from Rock journalists world wide including a stellar review in UK magazine Classic Rock. Following the release the band toured extensively throughout Australia to a consistently increasing audience along the way opening up for former Muderdolls/Frankenstein Drag Queens vocalist WEDNESDAY 13 on his Australian Tour. On Halloween 2005 The Deadthings released their first full length album “Who Killed Holly Would?” gaining critical acclaim including a 9.5/10 review from Sleaze Metal.com. The Deadthings continued touring extensively in support of the release and began headling the larger clubs in Australia including the Hi-Fi, The Marquee and Fowlers. In October 2006 The Deadthings embarked on a U.S. Tour seeing them share the stage with Sunset Strip Glam Icons L.A. GUNS & PRETTY BOY FLOYD as well as all star band THE STARFUCKERS (Dizzy Reed/John Corabi/Eric Dover) and earning the front cover of LA's prestegious music magazine Rock City News.Upon returning to Australia The Deadthings hit the road supporting Stevie Rachelle/TUFF (USA) on his Australian tour.In September 2007 The Deadthings unleashed their anticipated sophmore album "Dead Over Heels" which sees The Deadthings move in the more melodic hard rock direction of bands such as Warrant ,Danger Danger, Black N Blue and Kix.With their Rock N Roll soaked in blood, sweat, beer and glitter, The Deadthings continue to build a strong live following from show to show and a worldwide fan base with their infectious songs, with no plans on slowing down until the whole world screams their name!

Sounds Like:

Imagine it was 1982, and you could see Motley Crue's future, especially those bits in The Dirt where they defiled your daughter. So you killed 'em, perhaps with a chainsaw, or an axe. Then 25 years on, some mad doctor electrified them back to life. The Deadthings - "When Hell Sleazes Over" is exactly the record zombie Crue would make. Pretty awesome cock' n 'roll. 7 / 10 - Classic Rock Magazine - May 2005 Issue 79

This great band around the outstanding singer Julian C. Mephisto has proved with “Who killed Holly would”, that they are the true Glam Slam Kings of Ghoul. With a band like The Dead Things in my mind, I’m not afraid that our beloved Sleaze´n Glam-Music is going to die. 9.5 / 10 Sleaze-Metal.com
