About Me

Raised in a musical family, Laura began playing the piano at 4 years old. At age 8 she was writing compositions and by 18 had composed a body of work, including 6 feature length musicals. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance with honors from CSU Chico with further graduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her work is included in film scores, and other media soundtrack.

Laura is a member of the piano artist collective Whisperings founded by composer, pianist and radio programmer, David Nevue. This artist community promotes through its radio station and concert tours with artists including David Nevue, Scott D. Davis, Suzanne Ciani and David Lanz.

Laura has released 4 CD’s of her original New Age music on her independent label, Sentient Spirit Records. Her two releases "Mystical America" and "Pianoscapes for the Trails of North America" were produced by renowned artist Chris Camozzi, (appearing with artists Jeff Lorber, Michael Bolton, Maria Carey, Barbara Streisand and many others).

Kathy Parsons of Solo Piano Publications writes: "A strong and passionate pianist, Laura Sullivan brings a distinctive new voice to contemporary piano." RJ Lannan of the New Age Reporter writes: “Laura Sullivan’s music shimmers with an effervescent vitality.”

Laura’s latest release was picked number one best New Age album of 2004 by Bill Binkelman, Wind and Wire. It was named among the top albums of 2004 by Collected Sounds and received Top Pick designation from Solo Piano Publications & Streams of Time.

A new album by Laura Sullivan released March 2007 titled “Feast of Joy & Love”, consists of piano with ethereal vocals and other acoustic instruments such as violin, saxophone and percussion. The songs are organized in the album as appetizers, first & second courses and dessert. The music style is relaxing and soothing New Age/Classical. The songs consist of Laura’s own compositions along with 5 classical arrangements: a medley of Bach called "Bouquet of Bach", "Ala M'Ode to Joy", based on Bach's "Ode to Joy", "Waltzing with Beethoven" adapted from the Sonata Pathetique, "Albinoni's Secret Smile" which is an arrangement of the traditional Albinoni's Adagio with a surprise joyful key change, and a new arrangement of Greensleeves.
