About Me

The one statement that describes Vicki and the words she lives by; ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE if you believe in yourself enough to put the effort there to accomplish it.
Vicki Logan is an electronic instrumental composer. She is self-taught and creates her music "by ear", as they say, since she does not know how to read sheet music. Performing with keyboards and flute to backing tracks of herself and others, her shows promote the positive things in life and help audiences to realize that there is nothing they can not do. It's all a matter of deciding what it is that you want from your life here and then find out and do what it takes to accomplish that.
Life is a precious gift. LIVE it; take risks and dream BIG!
Vicki put her first album out in May of 2000 - CHASING DREAMS. All original, it was supposed to be more of a demo, but it was picked up by an independent record label in Minneapolis as well as several songs were used by the radio program "Delilah" as bed music. The album was nominated for Album of the Year with Just Plain Folks and came in 4th. For the next 2 years, she learned all that she could about the music industry. During that time, Vicki realized that signing with a label was not the way she needed to go. The music industry was changing and for her to be a viable force within it, things had to be done in a new way.
Vicki terminated her contract and then released CD number 2 - FINDING MY WAY. It captured the 89 spot on the Top 100 New Age Albums of 2003 chart at New Age Reporter. "Enchanted Winds" was 1 on AOL Radio for 21 weeks in the New Age category. "Grandma's Music Box" was on the contemporary classical charts for 6 weeks at 1 and she had about 800 radio stations airing the music. XM Satellite and Sirius Radio continue to air several of the songs on Audiovisions.
CD 3, THE RIDE came out in 2004 and it earned a spot in the Top 100 Albums of 2004 at 69 on New Age Reporter. The songs "The Ride", "An Engagement With Time", "Just To Be With You", "Dance of the Sun" and "The End of the Day" topped several radio charts and her audience grew as radio airplay shot upwards of 1000 worldwide.
In 2006, Vicki signed a contract with Chi Lin Music International for a 14-track all original CD to be released in Taiwan and she is working with Spirit Media in Bulgaria on a program called Spirit Hearts. (Spirit Media released her first video to "Don't Be Afraid" which can be found on uTube.)
2006 was also the year Vicki began work on her 4th album, THE JOURNEY TO THE PLACES IN MY SOUL. It was due to be released in 2007 and it began promotion that March, but the Logan's were involved in a seller-misrepresentation case on their new home. The previous owner was found liable to fix the home to the tune of approximately $500,000.00 and 2 days after the court granted the motion - also 2 days prior to the mediation to settle, the home was arsoned. The Logan's lost their pets, both of their businesses and all of their possessions to the fire. It is obvious what happened, but no one has been charged to date since all evidence is considered circumstantial. Due to the severity of the loss and the emotional stress endured by the family, all of the music...life in general...was put on hold for a while.
"All of this (music business) requires a lot of work and a lot of patience and perserverence. There are times when I want to chuck it all and then I get an e-mail, a letter or phone call from someone saying how I helped them through a rough time in their life or how I have inspired them to do something they would otherwise have not attempted. That's when what I do makes sense. That's what always keeps me going....people. Beisdes, isn't there a saying somewhere that says that anything worth doing isn't easy, but can be done?"
She's even found another market, believe it or not, "Moo-ed Music" as the Pioneer Press has dubbed it. Some farmers picked up the music to create a relaxing atmosphere in thier barns as they milked their cows. It must have worked because they found that the cows began to produce more milk!
And, with THAT said, Vicki hopes that all will remember; it's not what you have, who you are, what you look like or who you know. It's all about your desire and willingness to work for what you believe in. Life can really suck sometimes, but, in the end, ..DREAMS ARE ONLY DREAMS UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THEM A REALITY. ..
Vicki has just re-released CD 4, THE JOURNEY TO THE PLACES IN MY SOUL this past February of 2009. It appeared on the charts at New Age Reporter at 17 for the month of February. I wonder how far it will go...
CDS are available at http://www.cdbaby.com and all of the download sites as MP3s.
Vicki appreciates all of your support as the purchasing of her music allows her to continue to write and record more!!

Influences: LIFE influences me. I love all styles of music and use a variety of them in all of my work. I don't believe that we can or should be limited to one thing. As people, we are made up of many things; ideas and lifestyles, and those experiences and adventures make us who we are.
CHANGE is the only true constant in life. Instead of fighting it, we should always look for the advantages to it and use them to our benefit.
DIFFERENCES make life unique. We should celebrate our differences and experience them. I believe that GOD has created many roads for us to follow and that we were given choices to follow those roads which allow us to find HIM in our own ways. We have so many different religions, yet each of those religions have many of the same basic principles. I don't think GOD cares HOW we believe, just THAT we believe.
So, what did I listen to growing up? This is a short list and it is varied. Elton John, Ratt, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Duran Duran, Heart, Jethro Tull, Emerson Lake and Powell/Palmer, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, John Denver, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, George Michael, Madonna, AC/DC, Peter Gabriel, Van Halen, Berlin, The Pet Shop Boys, U2, Michael Jackson...yes, I grew up in the 80s. I also listened to a lot of music from musicals like Camelot, Carousel, Finnean's Rainbow, etc. etc. I have classical albums, hip-hop, R&B, new age, country, soundtracks, and more. If I like it, I'll buy it. My favorite music is that done by indie artists as most of that is NOT mainstream and unique. I learn A LOT from those artists. They have limited budgets and outlets and make the most of what is available. There is some incredible music out there if you look. :)
Sounds Like: Moby, Yanni, Enya, Jethro Tull, Tangerine Dream, George Benson, Kenny G, Michael Lington, John Tesch, Suzanne Cianni, Jim Brickman, and others I've been told.
Record Label: Carvic Records & Publishing (my company-ASCAP)
Type of Label: Indie
