About Me

NOTE: PLEASE write me a note first before sending a friend request- unless you're someone I know from the non-myspace world. I need to know that you're a "real person", and not another one of those myspace "phake phriend phor the purpose of phurious phishing and hacking accounts" Phreaks.... Also: before you send a friend request, ask yourself this question: "do I send out myspace bulletins every day, making observations about everything from how drunk I was last night, to asking my myspace friends to repost this ten year old internet chain letter so I can get a free computer from Bill Gates himself?" If so, please don't send me a friend request- you clearly have WAY too much going on in your life to waste time sending out friend requests to the likes of me.
.....and now, the bio:
"This is one remarkable piece of music. Jeff continues to grow as a player and technician (just the *sound* of this recording is stunning), but it's really the content of the music itself which makes 'Lingering Light' remarkable. There are a lot of guitarists working in musical realms which, on the surface, might bear comparison to Jeff's work, but in this wonderfully cohesive collection his 'voice' emerges as distinct and unique. Most important of all, this music is present... not hiding behind anything... just pure available emotion." -Will Ackerman, Windham County, VT
Based in Indiana, Jeff Pearce is well known to the ambient/new age music community for his unique approach to the guitar and Chapman Stick. Whether playing intimate acoustic music or crafting deep-space drifts, Jeff composes music which uniquely combines melody and mystery. His most recent project, "Lingering Light", features music composed for the Chapman Stick. The Stick is a stringed instrument that bridges the worlds of the piano and the guitar, and has a deeply rich sound which greatly compliments Jeff's music.
Jeff is also an active live performer, having played venues ranging from historic churches and concert halls to planetariums and dance clubs. His live performances are memorable events, mixing songs from his cd's with humorous storytelling and surprising musical improvisations.
With eight full length cd's to his name, Jeff's music has received many honors and much airplay since his first release in 1993. Jeff's music has been reviewed in Billboard, Downbeat, and Guitar Player, and music from his cd's has appeared in projects for Mercedes-Benz, Muzak, and the NBC Summer Olympics. And Jeff's music can be heard worldwide on such syndicated radio programs as "Music from the Hearts of Space" and "Echoes". In fact, the listeners of the Echoes radio program have consistently voted Jeff's cd's into their yearly top ten list, with his "to the shores of heaven" recording being named the 1 Echoes listener cd for the year 2000.
In 2004, Jeff briefly added "film composer" to his resume, scoring the animation dvd "Luminous Dimensions" for computer animator Michael DuBois. Jeff has also played "sideman" on a wide variety of projects, ranging from space music composer Paul Avgerinos to folk singer Christie McCall.
"Never have I heard such gentle, understated beauty....'Lingering Light' is one of my favorites. You can play this remarkably soothing album over and over again and the flow is seamless, as is the emotion. It is going on my Top Ten List for 2005."- RJ Lannan, New Age Reporter
