About Me

I'm a violinist, jazz vocalist, and composer in my 3rd year at the academy. I also teach violin and piano, and I'm a proud member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). My interests are eklectic to the utmost -- from music to health, graphic design to languages, to writing and giving storytime at children's libraries. I'm also a member of Ritmos da Cidade (Rhythms of the City), a samba percussion band in London.
As far as music goes, I'm picky, but I generally like jazz, classical, hip hop and r&b. I don't like a lot of commercial sounding things and go in head first for the deep stuff. If it means something significant, I'll probably appreciate it in some shape or form. I have the honor of playing with many different groups regardless of their genre, who know their stuff. And every few months I compose something new for vocals, violin, piano, or the erhu. I love my job. :-)
From my life in California, music has taken me a lot of places... Hawaii, New York, Washington, Canada, England, Israel. I'm so fortunate to call many people friends that I've met during my travels -- this is a thank you to them. You mean more to me than you know...
My dreams for the future include having a small word-of-mouth musicians' physical therapy practice, composing for big screen films, continuing as a private teacher for the rest of my life, and participating as a member of professional ensembles.
My debut album "A Portrait of Jenni" will be released in July 2008.
