Composer - Robin Olson

About Me

“Robin Olson is one of those rare composers whose music not only supports a movie scene, but actually feels like another character within the movie. He creates the perfect musical setting, which will enhance blockbuster hits, independent films and everything in between.”
- Russell Mulcahy, Director – The Highlander, Resident Evil 3, Razorback
“I have known Robin Olson for 20 years: first as a splendid violinist and now, as a composer. He writes music of passion, knowledge and humor.”
- John Mauceri, Conductor Emeritus of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra
An internationally-recognized virtuoso violinist, Robin has performed on virtually every Hollywood blockbuster film of the last decade, including Academy Award-winners Titanic, Shrek 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 1, 2 & 3, Spiderman 1, 2 & 3, Jurassic Park, and Finding Nemo.
Now composing full-time, Robin scores independent and major films including main and end titles and film trailers. Recently Robin was hired as a composer for FirstCom Music, a division of Universal Music Publishing Group, where he composed all musical styles for film and television.
What sets Robin apart is his ability to write, record and deliver ALL-LIVE orchestral scores at record speed. He recently wrote, recorded, and delivered the score for the pilot episode of the upcoming Adult Swim animated series "Calendar Boy" in less than two days.
Most recently Robin launched Studio Q, his state-of-the-art recording studio in West Hollywood. Specializing in all-live orchestral recordings, Robin's compositions are iconic and lush, rivaling Academy Award-winning scores by Horner and Elfman.
With writing partner and sound engineer Craig Lyons, Studio Q can create all of your project's musical needs. From a full-blown symphonic score to a pop/rock vocal track to a quirky percussive chamber piece, Studio Q's got it all!
